Delightful restaurant tucked into a side mall. Fantastic food and service! Drinks are fun too.

Macon is a great neighborhood find in Chevy Chase 2 blocks south of the Avalon Theatre. Cuisine is southern (as in US) + French. Everything we want in a restaurant was great | decor + ambiance + bar then food, service and value. A must.

Our group of four cleaned our plates! We had very a tasty brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Conveniently located in the heart of Chevy Chase with sufficient street parking on the side streets. The restaurant was easy to access in a wheelchair.

This is a charming bistro style restaurant with good food and we always enjoy coming here. The service is very friendly and our food arrived quickly and was fresh and hot. The service is a little uneven - although very well meaning. Part of our order was forgotten and they had to be asked to bring us our check - but once they were alerted they responded in a kind and positive way.

Delicious meal in a lovely setting! Service is superb. The only criticism is that tables are too tightly packed. We were in a center table so had to constantly scoot in to let people by. That said, it was Saturday night so very busy. This may not be an issue at other times.

Sunday brunch at Macon Bistro was exactly what we'd hoped for? We were meeting our son's new girlfriend and wanted a gathering spot that was beautiful, warm and casual with delicious food. Macon Bistro delivered on all fronts! We are so happy it's in our neighborhood.

Each of us enjoyed our meals, salmon, lamb and short rib dishes along with desserts were all delicious. The only issue after our meal was waiting too long for the check to arrive. Other than that dining at Macon was a great choice!

Delicious French fusion food at DC reasonable prices. We are locals and hadn't been here is a while and fell in love again!

Although I made a reservation, the restaurant was closed when we arrived, and there was no sign that it would be opening anytime soon. We could not understand how we could make a reservation but it would be closed on the day we made the reservation. Very disappointing.

Best fried okra around. And excellent salads for lunch.

I don't feel I can give a full review because I was there at a awkward weekday right after opening. There's was hardly anyone there although from the things I saw I could tell it's a nice place. By the time we left people had flooded in. Food was 9/10 and the service was amazing.

Macon may be slipping. Hardly any beets in the leafy green salad. French bouillabaisse limited to mussels, white fish and decorative langoustine - no shrimp or scallops - though delicious broth.

Ate a quick lunch here on a weekday. The restaurant was empty but it's probably busier on weekends or when the weather is more conducive to sitting in the small outside area in front. I had the fired chicken and waffle. The combination of hot sauce and sweet syrup was strange but worked somehow. They had some interesting looking appetizers as well.

My reservation for two on July 5, 2023, at 12:45 pm was a farewell lunch for a dear friend moving to Boston. We arrived on time only to discover that Macon was closed. (Only later did we learn that Macon is only open for lunch now on Thursdays and Fridays, brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.) It was a huge disappointment. Open Table should be aware of such changes in restaurant hours.
