We had not eaten at Macon in a couple years and were delighted with our dinner there. Left us regretting that we had not been back before then! Not a wrong note anywhere in the evening. We will not be long in returning.
Great ambiance, service, and food in a pre-movie dinner for three. Great hot soup on a night of exceptional winter chill. Three different seafood entrees for three different diners, all excellent. Efficient, friendly, non-obsequious service that knew how to time things, so all was done before time to leave for the movie house. Bustling, cosmopolitan, but polite, non-noisy crowd provided stimulating dining backdrop.
The war on bread continues unabated in America. They did not bring us any bread. I had to ask for it and it took forever to deliver. Other than that. Macon is a charming little bistro on Connecticut Avenue and a good addition to the stretch that is kind of suffering right now because there's only a couple of restaurants the Greek one and the other one- their staff is not very well trained.
