I REALLY liked the roti + beef at Makan (had to order the roti multiple times since it was so good!). Char Kway Teow also great. We tried the sago for dessert … that was weird since it’s salty, but hey glad I tried! Awesome service as well. I live in Brooklyn but wouldn’t mind coming back here.
I have a new favorite soup!This is the first time I try Malaysian food. The day I visited Makan, I was in the mood for a soup, preferably Pho, but being a Saturday around 6:30 PM, it was difficult to find a reservation. Then, while walking my way to the apartment I found Makan and they were taking walk ins.At first, I felt overwhelmed by the menu since it was pretty much new to me. Only deducting a star because the price to portion ratio could have been better, but also, its dc.This was our first time with Malaysian food, and Makan was a great introduction to the cuisine. After having spent the day in the chilly outdoors, this was the perfect, cozy, and warm end to the day. We ordered the Curry Mee | Noodle Soup, the Penang Street Noodles, the Mango Salad, and the Sago for dessert. Everything was a 10/10.
