Mid service, any place with automatic gratitude the bartenders are lazy and act like they are doing you a favor. The sign says $15-20 for hookah during happy including sat&sun but when you go inside the price changes. It is a bait and switch and is misleading to consumers. After i politely asked about it the bartender went off on the security guard and tried it with me, she is a bird but the owner clearly allows her to act like that. They never charge people correctly and always scheming. I will never go there again and wouldnt recommend it.

Very chill vibe. Me and my sisters went during the day on a Saturday and it was a great grown adult atmosphere. DJ came in the last hour we were there and that set it off even more. Glad we came when we did. Wasn’t a crowd and had plenty of room to sit and dance.

I used to enjoy coming here, especially during a time when I drank a lot. Over the years the establishment has gone down. The way that staff and management speaks to their guest is crazy some days. I was denied a plastic cup after coming to this establishment for over 5 years because I brought two beers and I’m not drinking heavy liquor and never smoked hookah. The manager said “you can’t have that, you need to spend more money.” I brought your products why am I being forced to drink out the beer bottle. Five years…days I came in alone a spent $150+ by myself at least 30 times and you deny me a plastic cup because of my preference. The fact to say that in front of other people while not having no music on in an open establishment is crazy. I used to drink the liquor from this establishment and always felt sick. UNTIL….the day two bartenders said they are not allowed to change the bottles out and they have never physically seen or opened a fresh bottle themselves. The bartenders themselves stated “they sell fake liquor” This was disturbing, and it doesn’t taste completely like the liquor it says on the bottle. Ever since I drink beer and Prosecco; bottles I can see them open. Then you read the reviews and see people saying I had one or two drinks. For some people whatever alcohol they are pouring in the branded liquor bottles cause an allergic reaction for some.
The bar staff talks shit about their guest. The way they look, dress, talk and then complain they are not being tipped.
This place used to be genuinely fun but for a year consistently now….it has gone down and they are stealing money using fake liquor, double or over charging people (speak up when it happens) and giving bad service while doing so.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been there but tried it out again yesterday and was definitely disappointed with being taken advantage of on the bill.
The music was great as always and the hookah was great. I thought my waitress/bartender was also great and very nice. Then when I got the bill it definitely sounded like more than what I bought as I got most of my drinks on happy hour. I asked for a receipt and got it but later I realized I was definitely overcharged for what looks like drinks I didn’t even drink. By this time I’d given the bartender an extra tip for the service. If I had known they were going to trick me on the bill I would’ve kept the extra tip.
So like everyone else said pay attention to your drinks and tab. Don’t let the good music and smiling faces trick you too!

I recently visited MK Lounge in the U Street Corridor to enjoy a night out with friends. The lounge offers a stylish two-floor setup with a DJ spinning hip-hop, R&B, and Afrobeat tracks, creating an energetic atmosphere. The hookah selection is diverse, with flavors like Mango, Grape, and the popular Starbuzz blends .
During Happy Hour, the specials are appealing—$15 hookahs, $6–$7 drinks, and complimentary appetizers like chips and salsa. On my visit, they even had a buffet with hot wings and Indian chicken, which was a pleasant surprise .
The staff was generally friendly, and the bartender, Brie, was particularly attentive, making me feel comfortable and providing excellent service .
However, the atmosphere can get quite crowded, especially later in the evening, which might detract from the experience if you're seeking a more relaxed environment. Additionally, the upstairs area wasn't open during my visit, limiting seating options.
Overall, MK Lounge offers a lively setting with good music, drinks, and hookah. It's a solid choice for a night out, but be prepared for a bustling crowd and potentially limited seating.

This establishment is a disgrace and a danger to public safety. I visited with friends for a casual night out and had only two drinks. At no point was I intoxicated, yet I suddenly became severely unwell. I barely made it to the restroom before collapsing. My friends had to assist me out of the building.
Let me be clear — this was not the result of overconsumption. Something was seriously wrong with those drinks. Whether they are serving adulterated alcohol or spiking drinks, this place is not safe.
Avoid this place at all costs. Your health and safety are at risk.

Im not sure what is being done to the alcohol here or if the bartenders are attempting to intoxicate guest to have them confused on their bills. But having 2 drinks and passing out wasn’t in the plan. So glad my friend was able to gather herself. She had 1 drink and had to be helped out the bathroom after she blacked out in the bathroom. My other friend asked for tacos they were brought out cold and incorrect. When he stated that they were incorrect the bartender became irritated and had a smart mouth. After helping our friend we left. Beware of the alcohol swapping and bill gauging..
