Good portions. The service was not the most friendly.

The quality of pho is okay but the price is quite steep

Pho 72 in the Columbia Heights area of Washington, DC, is a solid option for a casual meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making it a great spot to enjoy a cozy bowl of pho. The service is friendly. You must request the hot pepper oil/chili pepper oil. The portions are generous, and the price is fair for the amount of food you get. The pho itself is tasty, with a good balance of flavors, though the broth could benefit from a little more depth and the meat portions could be a touch more generous. Overall, it's a good place to satisfy your pho cravings if you are in the area.

Delicious food, fast & courteous service, and simultaneously no-frills but a great escape from the noise outside. A fantastic neighborhood spot.

I’ve tried all the Pho places in the area and this is the best one by far. Has the most flavorful broth and overall the pho is just really delicious. The Bahn mi is also very good.

Pho 72 delivers an exceptional Vietnamese dining experience, right to the doorstep. The summer rolls with shrimp arrive pristine—delicate rice paper wrappers giving way to generous portions of succulent shrimp, crisp lettuce, and fresh herbs, all elevated by a beautifully balanced peanut dipping sauce. The Banh Mi with lemongrass chicken is a genuine revelation: tender, fragrant slices of poultry tucked inside a crusty, airy baguette, accented by bright, pickled vegetables and a gentle spread of creamy pâté. Every bite offers a contrast in textures and flavors that is simply irresistible.

The star of the meal, the Pho Tai, Nạm, Chín, exemplifies what a perfect bowl of pho should be. The broth is profoundly aromatic, layered with the subtle sweetness of long-simmered bone marrow and spices that warm the palate. The noodles have that ideal springy bite, while the trio of beef cuts—rare steak, tender flank, and well-cooked brisket—each contribute their distinct textures and richness. Even delivered, everything tastes impeccably fresh, as if it had just left the kitchen seconds before.

Pho 72 shows true mastery of Vietnamese cuisine, offering refined flavors, high-quality ingredients, and meticulous preparation. For those seeking the comfort of a restaurant-caliber meal at home, this spot stands out as a top choice in Washington, DC.

Looks like he doesn’t know about costumer service. This place is not recommended.

Got the Pho Ga with beef broth to-go, little bit of a wait but totally worth it! Was feeling under the weather and immediately felt better after eating this :) very flavorful

Not the most authentic Pho restaurant if you know what I mean but I like this place a lot been coming here 15+ years be sure you check your food when you order to go. They won’t always give you what you order if they know you won’t check until you get home 😩

Unfortunately there was a mixup with the Togo order so we ended up having to wait an additional 30 min for the food to be ready. Overall, decent food if you’re not getting pho. Pho and vermicelli bowl were not as good as what you can find in VA.
