Delicious authentic Vietnamese food! I've been here three times now, and each time I loved what I ordered. The first time I had the rice plate with grilled lemongrass chicken (com ga nuong), the second time I had the pho tai chin (eye round steak and well done brisket), and the third time I had the vermicelli bowl with grilled lemongrass chicken (bun ga nuong). The lemongrass chicken here is so good. The food reminds me of the rice plates, vermicelli bowls, and pho that I had when I visited Saigon last year. The staff is all super friendly, and I enjoyed chatting with them, practicing my Vietnamese. I will always try to stop by here again when I'm in the area. I highly recommend Pho 72!

A decent and standard pho place. Service needs improvement because the server was always in the kitchen when I needed him to order, check out, etc. I think there are better pho places than 72 in D.C., so I probably won’t come back again.

Best pho in the neighborhood, with veggie options. Wonderful family-run place, and their banh mis are top.

The pho and summer rolls are average for the DMV. The ingredients are there, but the flavors leave more to be desired.

Beware: The Pho 72, which is listed with the same ingredients as the classic Pho Dac Biet, doesn't come with meatballs, tripe, rare beef, or anything you'd normally see. I received a standard looking pho with more thin cut, overcooked beef.

There's better and more authentic Vietnamese places elsewhere.

feels authentic. i’m from the bay area and have had my fill in different pho places. The service was very fast and friendly. Way better than Pho 14 close by. They take ages to make food. I mean 30-45 minutes after you order.

It’s one of my favorite pho in town! I always get carry out! And the portion is great!

Good portions. The service was not the most friendly.

Pho 72 in the Columbia Heights area of Washington, DC, is a solid option for a casual meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making it a great spot to enjoy a cozy bowl of pho. The service is friendly. You must request the hot pepper oil/chili pepper oil. The portions are generous, and the price is fair for the amount of food you get. The pho itself is tasty, with a good balance of flavors, though the broth could benefit from a little more depth and the meat portions could be a touch more generous. Overall, it's a good place to satisfy your pho cravings if you are in the area.

Delicious food, fast & courteous service, and simultaneously no-frills but a great escape from the noise outside. A fantastic neighborhood spot.
