Came here because of rating. Food is definitely sub par. Ordered combo chicken sand on a croissant/combo, BLT combo and Tuna on white combo. Chicken piece was so small you couldn't see chicken under partially toasted bread. Couple small pieces of bacon on BLT. Service was terrible. We ordered 3 combos but only received 3 sandwiches, 2 cups and no fries. You could tell their was freezer burn on curly fries when we reminded him of our order. This is 1 star grill. When you take into account what this place is, a snack bar at a public golf course, it is pretty good. The menu has what you expect at a snack bar, very good prices considering what has happed to food prices lately. Food ingredients were good and fresh. I had a decent burger. A tad on the over cooked side, but again it is a snack bar, and the kids had hot dogs which were good.Even snack bars aren't immune to the trouble eateries of all kinds are having with staffing, so service was spotty, but not terrible. So when you add up the score card at this spot, very reasonable prices and reasonable quality for what it is, we say this place makes par (pun intended).

Stopped on way to VA from NH after driving all night. Needed a quiet place near airport to park and take a short nap. This was the perfect option. Park police building on north side of the island, parked for free on the south end. After the sun came up had some beautiful views of DC across the Potomac. Decided breakfast was needed and to our surprise the Potomac grille was exactly what we had in mind. Menu is limited based on deliveries and support from park services. A very large renovation program for the island is approved and in progress. This park is a very spacious, pretty, quiet and a nice green oasis in the modern of the busy city.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space, indoor and out door seating. Menu choices are limited based on options delivered to Cafe. The entire island has been approved for overhaul so support for services is in a sunset period.Parking: Plentiful and free until major renovations are completedWheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space, restrooms are clean and in good condition at cafe building. Some outdoor public restrooms are still functional.

A captive audience, my kids and I recently dined at the Potomac Grill at East Potomac Golf Course. Given the choice, I would have walked out and skipped lunch altogether. In Washington, D.C. for a few days, my kids and I took a tour offered by the Department of the Interior. Lunch was "self pay" at the Potomac Grill. Nice enough place for a quick lunch, but that's where the hospitality ended.Several menu items were not available according to staff. Our server - Micah - was nice enough, but he quickly explained that a number of food items - such as French Fries and Onion Rings - weren't available. Not sure why basic menu options weren't available, but they weren't.A grilled chicken sandwich - "All the Way" - for my oldest daughter at $5.68; a cheese quesadilla for my youngest daughter at $4.77; a cheeseburger - "All the Way" - for my son at $6.82; and a simple hot dog for myself at $3.64. Food prices were pretty good, but the delivery of lunch took 25 minutes. That's right - almost a half hour. And the food was overcooked to boot. Not sure if the Potomac Grille at East Potomac Golf Course was having a "bad day" or if this is typical. One thing for sure - I will never dine there again when visiting our nation's capital. William E. Lewis Jr.Vero Beach, Florida.

Great service and very unique and good tasting french fried potatoes, cut in a spiral. The amount food you get is more than adequate and tasted great, couldn't finish it all.

Potomac Grille at this public golf course is the best kept secret for an inexpensive meal in downtown DC. Minutes from the memorials by car (free parking) and a reasonable walk from the Jefferson Memorial stop on the Circulator Bus Mall Route, they offer inexpensive food including breakfast all day.

Good burger and maybe the cheapest beer in DC
