This place is delicious and affordable. Everybody who works there is kind and considerate. They easily adjust their spice level to your liking, and they give very large serving sizes, especially for the biryani. Full send - I love this place dearly, and it is my go-to local spot.
I will say the workers are really nice. I want to lead with that because nice workers can make or break a business. However, the food was bland, underwhelming. The store inside was a “interesting” and while there’s outdoor seating, it’s at the bottom of the staircase and is not the greatest (to me). I wish the establishment nothing but the best, but I don’t believe I will be returning or even ordering take out.
Sacrificial Lamb has been our go-to spot for takeout for the last 3 years and they've never disappointed. The food is delicious and plentiful, and the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere makes this place feel like a hidden gem. For 2 people, we'll usually get 4 entries (our regular order is yellow daal, chicken korma, chicken biryani, and vegetable jalfraizi), naan, and samosas and make a feast that will last us at least 2 nights.
I ordered the Butter Chicken and Lamb Curry off Uber Eats. It was some of the best Indian Food I’ve ever had, even being delivery ! I can only imagine how fantastic the food taste in person at the restaurant.
This will definitely be my go to for the time-being. I’ll be checking their restaurant out in person ASAP.
Highly recommended.
Ordered takeout delivery. The curry is very good, but the breads like naan, roti and aloo paratha very bad. No option to choose butter and not that great. The paratha had almost no stuffing.
Had the lamb korma and I would go back. Plenty of meat and it comes with rice, naan is was a bit too bready/flour-y for me but great for soaking up the curry. Would’ve preferred some vegetables like carrots too
Really disappointed with the aloo parantha. The bread was half-cooked and way too thick, with barely any filling—almost like eating plain dough. It had no flavor and was honestly unpleasant. The only saving grace was the yogurt, which was decent. Overall, I’d rate the parantha 0/10. Would not recommend at all.
The definition of a hole in the wall spot. I come here for lunch about on ce a week. Get the chicken Tikka masala. Extra spicy. I drive for Uber part-time as well and always recommend this spot to tourists.
I lived in DC for years trying to find a good, reliable Indian spot for takeout and finally found it with Sacrificial Lamb. The food is consistently very tasty, and my order is usually ready fast, too!
The worst indian food that i’ve tried in my life

Butter chicken
Consistently delicious Indian & Pakistani food. Some of the best in DC.
Lamb and chicken dry. Lamb like rubber couldn't chew it or bite it
Ordered the lunch special, the quantity of food was great for the cost especially in dc, but never in my life have I felt the need to add seasoning to Indian food until today. Completely flavorless
Ate here twice while staying in DC. The guy recognised us from a few nights before and commented that they must be doing something right. The place isn't huge or geared toward families, but the food more than makes up for that. The portions are huge and we had to ask for takeaway boxes. If we ever come back, this'll be the first place we head to.
