Singing Tiger is a hidden restaurant and speakeasy located in the lower level of Hotel Nell in Union Market. It is a little hard to find but feels like a cool, secret discovery behind a curtain. The vibe is fancy yet cozy and chill, relaxed with good music, offering a fun and different experience from typical karaoke bars with its stylish, cozy rooms. The establishment features private karaoke rooms for singing.
The food is amazing, incredible, and genuinely good with bold, layered flavors and precision. Dishes are described as delicious, flavorful, and coming in very decent to large portion sizes. Specific highlighted items include skewers, the Cucumber salad, Chicken Lemongrass Gyoza, Bahn Mi buns, Dan Dan noodles, U.M. Greens, Thai crispy wings, braised pork belly buns, a spicy cucumber dish, Korean fried chicken, a Gyudon bowl, and pork belly baos. Everything feels intentional and elevated.
The cocktails are also amazing. Notable drinks include the smoked watermelon Martini, the shiso zen, lychee lights, and a curated sake flight. The service is consistently praised as excellent, friendly, and impressive, with staff handling situations very well. Singing Tiger is a highly recommended spot for a fabulous dining experience, great for dinner or a group date night, and is worth a special visit even for those not staying at the hotel.
