There is clearly a transition going on at this Wagshal's but after one disappointing experience, we got two great sandwiches there yesterday - up to the standards we expect - plentiful and delicious. My guess is that this will be the new normal. If otherwise, we will report.
3.5 stars Stopped in to grab a few things and some sandwiches. They stock some nice prepackaged items, nothing seemed to have a price tag which is annoying, but prices overall were ok for dry goods. Got a couple things from their deli and sandwiches, which overall feel overpriced. Italian sandwich was ok, but small for $16 and the bread needs to soak up a ton of the dressing. Our party of five enjoyed another excellent lunch today at Wagshal's in Spring Valley. Channon was on top form as always, anticipating our every needs. Our seating was quickly arranged, the coffee was hot, and our orders arrived promptly. My smoked salmon plate came with cream cheese, olives, capers, a lightly-toasted bagel, and slices of cucumber on bed of salad greens -- complementary flavors, all freshly prepared.
