Disappointing. Was in DC for only a couple of days and as an Aussie had read good reviews about the flat whites at Swings. Day one was good. Day two - their expresso machine was broken so no desperately needed flat white for me. Day three - managed to get a flat white and took a colleague. Day four - a sign was up saying it was temporarily closed even though all the staff were behind the counter. So I gave up and went to Bluestone Lane around the corner...

4/5 stars, would be 5/5 except for the atmosphere and slightly slower service (other locations are well oiled machines.) Get a large latte with an extra shot of espresso. a/o December 2023 all Swings locations make consistently similar

This was such an awful experience. Coffee is SO BITTER! This place is dead. Uninviting. The staff were sitting in chairs. Touching their faces, hair, one was digging in their ear, and then handling beverages, food etc.The bin that held pastries was FILTHY! Please do yourself a favor and move on to the next coffee option.
Enjoyed stopping in here this AM before the White House tour. Straight, no nonsense espresso drinks. Recommend.

Stopped by after doing some monument sight seeing. Had an iced latte and my friend bought an iced americano. Delicious coffee and nice interior!

It's a tiny shop with a small pastry selection. The coffee was great but wouldn't say it was my favorite coffee shop on my trip to DC. There are a few tables and some seating along the windows as well. Some of the tables have outlets which is great if you need to charge your phone.
