The District Fishwife Reviews
Had a pound of halibut for dinner with the family tonight. It was so fresh and delicious! Everyone loved it!
I contacted weeks in advance to place an order for a dinner party. I looked forwards to making my guests a particular dish. I showed up, and they just didn't have it. In fact, the person there said they never sell the ingredient I was quoted a price for over email. Never coming back here.

The District Fishwife offers a variety of seafood options, from salmon cheesesteak to salmon burger. The fries are a standout with the perfect combo of crispy and soft, and the shrimp basket with thick, curly fries is especially popular. The salmon burger is juicy with generous portions, making it a great value. The top tier fish and chips feature high-quality fish and a thin, crisp beer batter, considered one of the best in DC, though it can be pricey and charges extra for tartar sauce. Customers also enjoy the sushi and shrimp banh mi, finding them very tasty. The scallop basket is delicious, with juicy, tender scallops and crispy fries, complemented by good coleslaw that adds lightness to the meal. The swordfish parm sandwich is another well-liked choice, with good-sized portions. Despite some disappointments with greasy fish and chips and inedible pickled cabbage in the past, friendly service and diverse pescatarian options make it a place worth revisiting. The rooftop seating offers a decent view, and the team is quick to assist, even opening extra registers during busy times. Overall, the experience is pleasant with a variety of seafood favorites to enjoy.
