This was my first visit to The Strand DC for Brunch In Motion hosted by DesFit & Dance ( the last Sunday of each month and it was great. I grew up in this neighborhood and went to HD Woodson and didn't even know it was there. I love the energy and beauty it brings to Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue. Although I didn't have brunch my family did and they enjoyed it. It was clean, great design and the GM Tre made sure we were well taken care of.
It was my first time visiting this place due to an invitation from a friend. It was okay for the most part. A good place for the community to gather, drink, eat, and wind down for the evening. 🧡
If you're looking for a guranteed good time, food, and drinks, this is your place to stop. The ambiance is very nice, neighborly, embracing, and historic all at the same time. Definitely a hidden gem. The highlights of my afternoon snack were the COLLARD GREENS and Cornbread. OMG, I've never tasted anything like them and how they complimented each other so well. Someone in the kitchen is definitely putting in solid work. This is your sign to get the greens! 💚

The Strand DC is a hidden gem with great service, food, and ambiance. The food is BOMB, offering warm, comforted food and quality food for the neighborhood. The variety of choices is impressive, with many excellent dishes. Standouts include the Shrimp & Stone Grits with large, flavorful shrimp, the Sweet & Spicy Salmon with a great balance of flavor, and the Fried Chicken which is even better with the provided BBQ sauce. The collard greens with turkey and jerk salmon are a showstopper. There is also a fun Waffle Station with lots of topping options and an on point Omelet Station. The fresh pineapples are also noted. One dish, the oxtail and rice, was a bit chewy. The experience includes a price of $45 per person, which includes sweet tea. A 20% gratuity, service fee, and taxes are automatically added. Do not judge this spot by its exterior or the neighborhood.
