The Roasted Branzino that my wife had was outstanding. The flavor, taste, and seasoning was excellent. The texture was just right. My Blackened Salmon salad was tasteful, full of flavor. The portions were outstanding on both dishes and everything was extremely fresh. I recommend both dishes. Five stars. There was a party of about 40 people celebrating, so the atmosphere was festive and the noise was bearable.

The restaurant sits right near the water, which is great for views and surprisingly there wasn't a lot of noise during dinner which was appreciated. Unfortunately, our service was terrible. We had to ask the waiter almost 5 times to refill our waters because he wouldn't come over to refill them but we notice him to go other tables and do it without being asked. While we weren't initially ready to place our order, the waiter offered to come back, which is typically about like 5 minutes later but he was gone for more than 15 minutes which is absolutely unacceptable. When it was time for the check to come around, we wanted to save something off our plates but he instead took everything and started walking to the trash without offering a to-go box for anything. I left a $0 tip for dinner, which is surprising for myself because I always try to leave some sort of extra money for the service. But, due to the lack of service experienced by our waiter, I did not feel as though I needed too. However, the food was satisfactory and while I was very disappointed that the service was poor, the food was great.

Expectations really do define our reviews. This is not 5 star dining but it is a beautifully situated restaurant right on the water with a good seafood menu and wine list and helpful staff. If you want super-posh go elsewhere but if you want a relaxed, casual seafood meal with a glass of chilled wine and a delightful view then this is worth a visit. I would come back again if visiting Washington!

We enjoyed our experience. The seating helped make it special! Definitely was nice being on the patio- it's way too dark in the main dining area. We were disappointed in the lack of beverage options for non-alcoholic drinkers. Also, some of the dishes didn't seem to match in value. For example, the crab cake was lovely but to be on a bed of succotash? We liked this place but probably wouldn't be back again.

Disappointing meal. Mussels themselves were fine but broth bland. Honey smoked salmon on salad was overly salty and not good. Service slow even though restaurant not busy. View was great.

Ambiance wasn't all that. The find was great. My group had half of chicken and crab cake with a Cesar salad. Little pricey but over all good

I was SO disappointed with this restaurant which is a staple for Washington, DC (it's been in Georgetown for decades!). The service was slow; the dinner rolls (which you have to ask for) were rock hard they were so stale; the mixed green salad with apple came with TWO small pieces of apple; none of the vegetable sides were seasoned; and if I hadn't had a groupon for the prix fixe menu, we would have spent more than $150 on this mediocre experience. I will NEVER eat here again, and I would never recommend it to anyone, either. Honestly, if you want to eat by the waterfront and want seafood, just go right across the way to Nick's (which also has groupons!).

For a Sunday Brunch, we came here because the Founding Farmers' brunch was a buffet style. I'm not a big fan of food that everyone is breathing over, licking their fingers and then touching tongs or food, etc. I wanted a seated and served brunch. We came to Tony and Joe's, not knowing what to expect. It exceeded out expectations. It wasn't too crowded (which is a shame because the food and drinks are good). We were seated by the window, where we could watch the passersby, the boats, and all the happenings of the Potomac and the Georgetown Waterfront. [For those that play PokemonGo, it's a great place to lounge for Pokestops]We started with the Ivy City Smokehouse Smoked Fish Board. We should've just ordered this with a side of fries. It was so much food and very delicious. He ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich. I had the Smoked Pepper Salmon Salad Sandwich. Our drinks were a Bourbon Smash and a Habanero Margarita.Let me tell you about this margarita. I love spicy, but this was a perfect blend. I hate when bars try to make the habanero margarita as spicy as it can be, seemingly as a joke on the customer, and slack off on the margarita part. When you are trying to burn the palates of your customers and not concentrate on the total flavor, your bar loses. Whoever was working the bar at Tony and Joe's that Sunday, knew what they were doing. This margarita tastes like a margarita. It was sweet, sour-ish from what seemed like fresh limes in the mix. The sugar rim began the journey, the acidity marched in tune, and instead of a mouthful of heat, the flavor of the habanero wasn't lost. This was the best damn habanero margarita I've had in the DMV area. The food came to us at a great temperature. The fries! I'm a big French fry fan, and when the cook holds them down just a little bit longer so they have that crisp to them ... yeah, these guys adored these potatoes as much as I do. The sandwiches were delightful and so filling. I ended up having to take half home. The smoked fish plate will always be my favorite brunch item now. The smoked whitefish salad was not too mayonnaise-y. The smoked salmon was tender and not turned into jerky like most restaurants murder salmon. Tony and Joe's really stood out and up for us that Sunday. I really appreciated the friendliness of the wait staff, the cleanliness of the dining area, and the beautiful view. This restaurant is totally going in my brunch rotation.Pros:The foodThe viewThe waitstaffThat habanero margaritaCons:I'm mobility-challenged. It was a good day, but it's a distance from parking and it was icy, with construction going on, and ice rink traffic.Pay Parking, but I can't hold that against them. It's in DC *huge laugh* because GPS hates navigating DC and it was steadily trying to get us to do massive U-turns on the Potomac river itself because it didn't understand that the place is on the banks of the river, near an overpass. I just happen to know where I'm going. And I still can't hold this against them.Overall:It was a slow brunch on a slow Sunday morning. I could loaf, eat and drink, and get some PokemonGo in for the morning/afternoon. Beautiful site. Staff was pleasant. Food/drinks were excellent. I'd go again. It's not that expensive, unless you're Mothy McEmpty-Wallet.

Arrived on Thursday night at 9:15 pm, after seeing that the establishment was opened until 12:00 on the internet. Upon arrival, waited at the host stand to be seated as indicated by a sign. When asked for a table for 2, the employee stated that the kitchen was closed for the evening in a condescending and disrespectful tone as if he was inconvenienced, in the otherwise empty location. When advised that the internet showed a closing time of 12:00, he tried to articulate that the kitchen should not be expected to be open at the time and that the bar was still open for drinks. We did not stay as the bartender looked equally as displeased by our presence. No worries though. I was more than happy to spend my money at Guapos across the street who welcomed us with open arms and allowed us and several other patrons to eat and drink comfortably well past their designated operating hours. They understand good business and customer service.

Very average for the price. Probably much nicer doing sunnier times with no flood walls blocking their view and ambience. But the food just wasn't hot and was very bland at a $$$ price.
