Located on the rooftop of the Hampton Inn & Suites, Top of the Yard is a solid spot to catch views of Nationals Park and kick back with a drink. The rooftop is outfitted with large comfy sofas, perfect for soups, and from the right angle you can even see the pitchers mound. The outfield view is partially blocked by solar panels, but it’s still a cool vantage point.
The drinks were surprisingly great and strong. A vodka soda ran me just $7.70, which is a steal compared to ballpark prices. My friends also let me know the food was good.
When it started raining, we were able to head down to the lobby with out drinks and wait it out comftorably. There’s also a small covered bar area on the rooftop if you manage to grab a seat.
Just a few blocks from the stadium, this is the perfect pregame spot, or even a fun way to catch the start of the game from above
Great place to catch a game or meet up with friends before the game. Bar staff is friendly and menu has variety. The view from the rooftop is spectacular.
Area is just fine, hard to get to, just one bar to order from, heavily reliant on if the weather is good, partial view into Nats Park which is pretty cool
Watching the Nats play from a rooftop bar is unbeatable!
The worst burger I've had in a very long time. Cardboard taste, "sauces" of ketchup, mustard, mayo with kettle chips. The chips were edible. The burger was really not. Yuck.

The View was nice, but could be better, the garage and solar panels get in the way. The food was pretty basic, but I didn't really expect much, service and drinks were good.

Just...okay
Neither the A-Team, nor the B-Team, was serving on a Wednesday night when the Nats were playing.
Cold and stale hotdog buns, and missing a side.
HOWEVER, great prices on food and drinks during happy hour.
If you bring friends and tempered expectations, you can have a great one-time experience.
Not likely to return.
Parking: $70 valet if staying at the hotel
Military can park on the Navy Yard free - 11 minute walk (at the parking garage)
Wheelchair accessibility: Very narrow aisles on the rooftop

I had the nacho meal and was smashed chips and poor toppings. More seating is also needed.

Decided to try this place out while I was in town and to catch a game. The online pics show a great rooftop view but there’s a huge garage now blocking the stadium. That was strike 1! I went on a Monday. Food and beer menu is very limited to begin with but they were out of all decent beers bc they had a “busy” weekend- Strike 2! I went with a safe choice of blue moon. I get a bill of $12 for a pint even though the bartender said it was part of the happy hour special. He literally says “my bad” I thought it was and walks away- strike 3! First and only time you’ll catch me there.

Great place to hang out without having to leave the hotel. Spectacular views of the stadium and water. Drinks are ok. Not mixologists but they serve alcohol.
Cute. Loved it. Great vibes and great view
The hotel is in a desirable location with regards to nightlife. However when baseball is in season, commuting in and out of the area is nearly impossible. Police barricaded the street and made check-in a brutal process. Otherwise, the service was delightful.
