No itemized receipt because they try to sneak in 20% gratuity automatically…lame

Didn’t eat, but they have fancy ketchup. Played nothing but bangers. And I know bangers.

It's fine for a typical dive bar. Be aware that they add in 20% gratuity regardless.

What a lovely place! India was a great bartender and had really good food recommendations and we had a great meal.

Shady as hell. Two beers and an order of mini corndogs was $35, during happy hour! I had to ask for an itemized receipt to see that the bartender had already included 20% and was still trying to finesse another tip out of me. Never going back. Do not recommend.

Ordered chicken and fries at the bar when the bartender gave me the bill it was $30, and he included 20% gratuity. I immediately asked to cancel the order when he told me the kitchen had already started preparing it. It wasn't even two minutes after I placed the order. Never coming back!

Town Tavern hosts a great local comedy group on their 2nd floor. Great atmosphere
Bar tender was not pleasant. Beer selections were sub par and customer service was less than desirable.
For all the Harry Potter fans. The buttered beer is legit

$33 for a double crown n coke? C’mon man, that’s just ridiculous. It’s not necessary to charge that much for one cocktail - Plus it was the basic Crown, not even Crown Black! However, I enjoyed the free comedy show upstairs. For someone who has seen famous comedians like Dave Chappelle, George Lopez, Charlie Murphy, Dane Cook + many comedians who frequently came to New Orleans, I liked the concept of someone who criticizes/helps upcoming comedians with their work. Pretty neat idea. I’ll be back for the show but I’ll have to pre game it because $30 for a drink is just stupid, even for DC. No bartender upstairs during the show.
I had the best time here. Gracie was so sweet and gently ushered us out of the door at closing. What a great woman
The bar is good but let down by 2 things. First I'm 36 and the bouncer stopped me to ID check me and he didn't have a pleasant attitude, I guess the just for men is working too well. Secondly they add 20% gratuity to the bill but when the bill comes there's the usual tip field. If you want to be a European bar who pays their staff then don't ask for a tip. Otherwise if you want tips then don't charge 20% by default. If it wasn't for these 2 issues I'd give 5 stars.
