ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. This place is home to some of the most gifted musicians in Washington DC. Do yourself a favor and go! And don't forget to tip the musicians because they are beyond phenomenal!

Green Island Cafe, now renamed "Moonlight," is a relaxed jazz club on 18th Street. The live jazz music creates a nice atmosphere, with a jam session hosted by Peter Edelman from Thursday to Sunday at 8PM. The place has good acoustics and a casual vibe, perfect for socializing. While the food might have a long wait time due to being busy, the friendly bartenders and great band make up for it. Guests can show their appreciation by tipping the band in cash, Venmo, or Paypal. Keep in mind there is a $10 minimum per person.
The band leader, Peter, and the band are amazing, and the place is a must-visit. It has a chill vibe and awesome jazz music, making it a true music lover's haven. The crowd is engaged, and the musicians play a range of instrumental and vocal jazz. The staff and owner are friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The place is reasonably priced, with a $10 self-enforced minimum, and the drinks and food are all solid. Customers highly recommend supporting and tipping the band to help this place thrive and keep live jazz going in the district.
