3 is the perfect score. Everything was “ok”. The place was clean. Service was nice, but not attentive (I got up to get us straws, napkins, and later soy sauce when our sushi came out.). Gyoza, shumai, and pork buns were all good. Yakisoba noodles were ick. Too greasy and super low grade chicken used. Sushi was average. Easy to tell the fish was not super fresh (we ate on a Saturday). But it was “ok”. Not a bad place, but not a good place I would recommend to anyone (I...
Umaya Izakaya was amazinggggg! Antonio was our waiter and he set the tone for the evening. We came in to celebrate our brothers 17th birthday and he loves Japanese food...let me just say, the food was GREAT! They were able to accommodate 2 of our party guest who had gluten allergies and assisted with bringing out the birthday cake. 10/10 will definitely be back!
We went for lunch and got there before it got too crowded. The ambiance is rather plain but the servers cheerful and attentive. We both enjoyed the miso soup to start with. Nice sized bowl and very tasty. My guest had the hamachi salmon dish and enjoyed it. I had the tempura shrimp roll which was excellent. I also got one order of salmon sashimi. It was good but not as melt in your mouth as other restaurants. A bit of a small portion for the price.
