Atexquita Restaurant Mexican Grill & Bar is a hidden gem near the University of Delaware, known for its top-notch, authentic Mexican cuisine. The food is delicious, featuring options like shrimp rancheros, tacos, and the popular burrito chipotle, which is both filling and tasty. The horchata is a must-try, and the margaritas are cheap and strong, making them a favorite for many. The atmosphere is inviting, with lively music that adds to the experience, although it may not always show up on Shazam. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring excellent service. Visitors often praise the quick and efficient service, especially during happy hour. The Carnitas tacos are highly recommended, and the restaurant offers a large variety of meats. Christina, the staff member, is appreciated for making kids feel special with their drinks, enhancing the family dining experience. Many customers enjoy going there weekly as a family, with favorites including tacos, fajitas, churri queso, and guacamole. This spot is great for casual lunches or a night out, though it can be busy, especially when students are around. Vegetarians will also find plenty of tasty options to enjoy. Parking can be a bit tight in the shared lot, so visitors should be cautious, especially with young children. Atexquita provides a dining experience that feels welcoming and familiar, perfect for special occasions or a casual meal.
