Just left the Black Prong for a birthday celebration, I'd give this place a 10 star or 120% rating if I could. Best restaurant I have been in years, staff, food, atmosphere, was off the hook awesome! Jada, our waitress was so professional and a beautiful personality and made the experience to remember forever. I highly recommend you try this hidden treasure in the middle of nowhere! The wife and me will return again and again!

So, we ate at the bar last night. Food, drinks, and service were top-notch. Bar-tender/manager was great. Today, we did the online ordering for lunch. They do not notify when your order is ready. After 30 minutes, I found our order sitting in a brown paper bag. It was obvious that it had been sitting there for 15+ minutes. The cheese steak and burger were very good (just warm). The fries were cold and greasy, and the tomato salad was not fresh nor appealing. We threw the fries and tomatoes in the trash. They must develop a system to "text" when the order is ready. Dinner service deserves 5's across the board. Lunch is 3, 3, 2, no star for atmosphere.

I miss the food truck and I missed the old menu. The fried green BLT was so good.

Had high hopes for the resort, but was disappointed. Ordered the Wagu burger, expecting something fresh, but received what appeared to be a previously frozen Sysco burger. Was pleasantly surprised that there is a 10% discount for ordering online, but further surprised when there was a suggestion for a tip. What is the top for, self-service? Didn't receive notification that the order was ready, while I was waiting in the parking lot, so the food sat in the outside delivery box for about 10 minutes. The saving grace was getting to look at the pool and its fountains...

My husband and I enjoy coming to Black Prong Grill for dinner. The food is always phenomenal, and the service is top-notch. We're giving The Galloping Gourmet 3 stars for lack of customer service and wait time. Again, the food is phenomenal, but there is absolutely no customer service. Ordering is done through a QR code, which is very easy. The lack of service is when the food and drink are placed out of the window without even a word. We waited 40+ minutes and then looked up, and our food was sitting there in a brown to go bag without anyone telling us anything. We didn't even see a single Black Prong / Galloping Gourmet employee. Between the wait time for a cheeseburger and cuban sandwich and lack of customer service, it is very unlikely we will be returning for lunch. Much better experience when lunch was served out of the food truck. We expected much more from such a high class place.

My friend was very pleased with her mahi, husband said scallops well done nicely but my filet was overcooked and no (as in zero) seasoning. I ordered medium rare and got medium. Even before we looked at any menu or received water our waiter assumed we would like the bread board which we agreed to. While the bread was nice and hot and served with a seasoned butter, olive oil and Parmesan cheese I felt it lacked something, maybe a little seasoning, at the very least a little cracked pepper. Our waiter seemed more interested in waiting on the table more guests than our table of 3. Didn't try a dessert but will try the restaurant again as I really want it be one frequent over time.

The menu has changed since our last visit, very disappointed. Missing from the menu was, Redfish topped with crabmeat. Also missing was the bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapeños sauce. The Berry Mojito was mediocre.

Outstanding! This is the first place in Ocala that qualifies as a gourmet restaurant. The good was delicious, beautifully presented and the environment is comfortable luxurious and not at all pretentious.

The service was friendly and attentive. The food (we had bread board, entrees and dessert) was very very good. The live music volume was just enough. It was enjoyable, but we didn't have to yell at each other to have a conversation. And we didn't feel like we were able to hear other tables conversations either. Thank you!

We are locals, and to be frank, we never thought a high end restaurant could make it in Levy county. But we're coming back for thirds. The menu has something for everyone. Wine and service were exceptional. Black prong is among the top three favorite restaurants in the state for us. And it couldn't be in a better location... Goethe Forest. Cheers!

Party of six. Waitress & staff did a nice job. Food was a solid B. Everyone seemed to enjoy but not rave over their entree. Scallops app was skimpy for the price. Music was too loud for a dining experience. Hard to communicate with anyone other than the person next to you.

Jada our server was awesome and very attentive. The food was awesome as usual and the drinks were well made. Everything was perfect for our anniversary. The music was alittle loud and not that entertaining

Fantastic! The property is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and the food was delicious. I felt like I was in the show "The Bear." It's about a chef trying to get his families restaurant a michelin star. Everything about this place was on point. I would definitely go back and recommend to all my friends. The atmosphere was romantic and high end. The decor was beautiful. The bread service, salmon, burger, and key lime bread pudding were delicious. Great job Chef!

Black prong has been remodeled and it looks great! The food was delicious and presentation was very tastefully done. I just wish it weren't so far away. I would schedule a time to come back when there is horse event and spend the afternoon. My mahi dish was excellent. Accompaniments went great with the fish!

Disappointed

Had another great dining experience last night at The Black Prong. It is such a gem sitting on the edge of the Goethe State Forest. It's quite an unassuming. But the food is delicious. The menu had changed since the last season we were there but we were all delightfully satisfied with the Caribbean Mahi (x2), the “mega-sized” crab cake and the braised short ribs. Some of us started w the cream of mushroom soup special which was perhaps the best I've ever had. Finished our evening w the cheese cake and the key lime bread pudding.
