“I have celiac disease and my son has a gluten intolerance. I made that clear when we ordered. The person who assisted us did their best to make sure we were safe and they were genuinely amazing. The line worker that they had to repeatedly ask for our meat from was not. She rolled her eyes multiple times and loudly insisted we couldn't be guaranteed a safe experience. Despite her insistence, and her keeping my 7 year old waiting 20+ minutes for his meal, seemingly intentionally, he was extremely pleased to simply be able to eat at the same restaurant as the rest of his family. No cross contamination occurred, as I can tell immediately (and violently within 15 minutes). He enjoyed it so much that we will in fact be back and I swear if that line worker rolls her eyes one more time there will be words exchanged.“

“My wife and I thought that the food and service was excellent! She had enchiladas, I had tacos, and we shared street corn for appetizers and had churros for dessert. We have been there once before, and hope to be back when we are in the area.“

“Stopped in a little over a week ago for lunch with my wife while visiting family in the area for the holidays. Came in blind never hearing about Bubbakoo's and left very happy. The guys working there were super friendly and accommodating. They did a great job preparing the food and beer prices were lower than some bars in the area. The manager even set us up by the tvs, turned on a football game we were interested in, and brought out all the food once it was prepared.

On a side note we tried visiting a Bubbakoo's nearby back home and my wife agrees it was not nearly as good. Not to say anything bad, but rather how GOOD this location is!
Definitely worth stopping in, we will likely be back next time we are in town.“

The staff were friendly and engaging especially Ms. Jordan who took the time to make recommendations on the menu and patiently took our customizations. “I ordered the tamarind margarita and carne asada. The margarita was good. The steak was very thin and chewy, it was also under seasoned. For a thin cut of steak like that they should tenderize it. Chips, table salsa and queso dip were good.“

The Mexican rice has onions and is spiced and the beans are also spiced. Absolutely terrific!!! I had the flautas which I love and these were the best I’ve had. My husband ordered chile rellnos and to his shock and delight there was a chile NOT buried in a ton of soggy breading. It was stellar!!! “I’ll admit—I’ve been gatekeeping this spot for a while! Only recently did I start sharing it with family and friends, and now it’s one of our favorites. These are hands-down the best authentic tacos in the area, and the prices can’t be beat.

As a South Texan, I am picky when it comes to Mexican food, and this place gets it right every single time. My regular order is the asada tacos with pineapple agua fresca and their elote—an unbeatable combo. I’ve also tried their gorditas, tortas, taquitos, and the rice and beans, and I’ve never once been disappointed. The fresh salsa and toppings bar is chef’s kiss.

Some people mention the tacos are small, but that’s because they’re authentic street taco size—double tortillas, packed full of flavorful meat, and absolutely delicious. Honestly, they’re a steal for the quality and portion.

The staff is always kind and welcoming, and I truly hope this place gets all the popularity it deserves. A true hidden gem that I’m finally happy to share!“

“We stopped at this taco truck after a morning of shopping and before an afternoon of pool swimming! We were not disappointed! It was a bit tricky to find it as it was to the back of the Sunco gas station lot. But we were so glad we did. The person working was fantastic. He told us that there were a couple things on the menu that he didn’t quite have ready yet, one was rice, which is a side so he suggested he would substitute for chips and queso, which we preferred anyway! The 3 of us ordered the 3 steak street taco plate, which came with beans and the chips/queso (normally rice). The steak tasted like it came straight off the grill. There was also a lime slice for each taco and some verde sauce. One of us also tried the hot Cheeto taco for one of her 3, She said it tasted great as well. The beans were not refried beans that you might be used to with Mexican. They were more of a pinto bean with almost a slight pork taste and saucy. They were excellent and a nice surprise! Portions were large for what I was expecting for the price! Very clean place, and very friendly and hospitable staff. Would absolutely recommend!“
