“Just discovered Brooklyn Bagel in Clermont and was pleasantly surprised! I tried the sourdough everything bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon — definitely not your average bagel. The sourdough flavor gave it a unique twist that set it apart from the usual spots around town. Service was quick and friendly, and prices were perfectly reasonable. This place feels like a great local find — we will definitely be back to try more flavors.“

““IF IT AIN’T BOILED, IT AIN’T A BAGEL!” Period.
My wife June and I moved down to Clermont from Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin (just north of Milwaukee) in 2015 after having said our sad goodbyes to all the friends we’d made over the course of more than 30 years, one of whom had become June’s closest friend.
On another level we also knew we’d miss our “literally just around the corner from where we lived“ neighborhood Bruegger’s, a very popular shop that sold ‘real’ bagels. We never thought we’d find elsewhere another neighborhood shop where we could get as good a bagel we were accustomed to in Whitefish Bay. At the time there wasn’t, to the best of our knowledge, a neighborhood shop in Clermont that served up bagels made the old fashioned way—by boiling them before baking.
Before long June’s best friend expressed an interest in coming down for a visit. Both were excited about the possibility and flights were arranged. A few days before their trip down June asked if they wouldn’t mind picking up a couple dozen Bruegger’s bagels for us the day before, or even the day of, their flight down. They said they’d love to do that for us! These visits eventually became annual affairs—Bruegger’s bagels included!
And then there were occasions when we would fly up to visit family members and friends and would make certain we had room in our luggage to pack some fresh Bruegger’s bagels to bring home!
If only we could find down here a around the corner neighborhood bagel shop whose bagels were as good as the ones Bruegger’s baked. Well guess what!
One of our sons who lives down here said to us “Why don’t you give Jeff’s Bagel Run a try before you ask your closest friend from Wisconsin, or another of your sons who lives in Minneapolis where they also have Bruegger’s, to bring you bagels when they visit?” We took his advice and we’re absolutely loving many of the various types of bagels Jeff’s offers!
And one more thing: we found their quality holds up perfectly after keeping a supply in the freezer. We put each bagel in its own sandwich size Ziplock, and four of those individually sealed bags into a gallon Ziplock, and in the freezer they go. Let that Jeff’s bagel thaw out overnight, or wave it for 50 or so seconds, and you’ll think you had just picked it up minutes before, fresh from Jeff’s Bagel Run. Honestly.
Now there’ll never be a time when a great bagel isn’t within easy reach at our house.
Just sayin’ . . .“
