About Pickle Barrel

Pickle Barrel is a small deli with a cozy atmosphere and a good-sized menu. The sandwiches are a highlight, with generous portions and delicious fillings. The pastrami sandwich and matzo ball soup are popular choices, and the addition of pickles adds a nice touch. The meats are moist, warm, and tender, showing that the staff knows what they are doing. The deli offers a mountain of meat on bread, with great pickles and a variety of sides that make it a classic spot for deli lovers. Although parking can be challenging and the place is small, especially when busy, the cleanliness and quality of the food make it a local favorite. Cookies are also available, but beware—they are hard to resist! The staff is friendly and service is quick, making it a great spot for a casual meal. Many customers say it serves the best deli food outside of New York, and the corned beef is often praised as the best tasting in Broward. The rye bread has some substance to it, not the usual mealy bread, and the half soured pickle is a favorite. Despite being a bit pricey, the large sandwiches and tasty flavors make it worth it. Most people use it for takeout, and taking home a jar of half sour pickles is highly recommended. Overall, Pickle Barrel remains a popular choice for those looking for great sandwiches and friendly service.

I've been going to this place since 1974, almost 50 years and have NEVER a better sandwich anywhere, with the exception of Katz's Deli on Houston Street in NYC!!! When I moved to Deerfield in 1974, I was SHOCKED at how good The Pickle Barrel was!!!
My husband brought me soup and a sandwich today. The food was homey, comforting, and of the finest quality. He also told me the customer service was extraordinary, without them even knowing I am in the hospital. This is a family owned business, that deserves our love and support!
My husband and I love non- chain restaurants and while in town this past weekend, I stumbled across the Pickle Barrel. We were both able to bring home half of our sandwiches for later. The pickles are amazing! Will definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Parking: Due to the location, some of the spots are a little difficult to get in and out of, but do not let that stop you from going inside!
