Gilbert's 17th Street Grill

We stopped in for lunch, and wow—the food was amazing! I had the best sandwich ever, and my husband said his burger was the best he’s ever had. We’re definitely going back before our vacation’s over! Service was excellent!

My family was in town on vacation and decided to give Gilbert’s a try. I got the blackened mahi mahi and it was some of the best I’ve ever had! The servers and staff went above and beyond, the food was amazing, and the desserts were unbelievably good as well! I can’t recommend this place enough- if you’re in Ft Lauderdale you have to stop by and give it a try!

Do yourself a favor and run to this place!!! Their food is amazing and the key lime pie was the BEST we’ve ever had. The staff is so kind and helpful.

My wife and I stopped in here after getting some hype about the place being great. I'm from the south, so one I know burgers and I'm very familiar with flavor. This was subpar. The place will be a hard pass in the future.

My burger was medium but needed something, was extremely plan. I've had better tasting burgers at Red Robin, and Wendy's.

The wings.... Soggy breading and also pretty dry? Weird how that worked out. I can't expect the wings to hold up to Hattie B's but at least buffalo wild wings.

We landed in Ft. Lauderdale, skipped around like little puppies checking out our hotel then decided we were hungry! My husband checked our location and listed off about a dozen delicious sounding places and man, we sure are glad we landed at Gilbert’s. We were warmly welcomed upon entry by a great looking young man with menus in hand who explained we could sit anywhere we liked and to order at the counter. A woman in a white top, not quite a chef’s coat, but close, came out to greet us. We visited for a while to learn she’s the owner and has had her restaurant for 17 years. Very charming business woman. We went with their burgers with sides of onion rings and mac and cheese. The burgers were perfectly cooked to medium with just the right drape of melted cheeses and scrumptious fresh veggies. A lovely selection of beers were served in frosty cold Stella Artois glasses. Exactly what we needed. Wellington served us with lots of smiles and good humor, fussing over our daughter who will be celebrating her birthday on the cruise ship we are boarding in the morning. A generous slice of Lemon Mascarpone Berry cake topped off our late lunch. Sadly, no room left for Mrs Gilbert’s freshly baked cookies. Next. Time. 🤤

This place is family owned and the owner was amazing! The menu is so good you have a hard time choosing what to eat. We got our food and it was perfect everything tasted amazing. We even got some delicious cookies to take with us. The servers was friendly as well. Very nice chill environment. If I am ever in ft. Lauderdale I will return there!
