My son and daughter-in-law are always trying to get me to try new things so they took me here for lunch. It was wonderful. The atmosphere was very relaxing, the staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious! It's not the place to go if you're trying to be frugal, it's definitely more on the pricey side, but it's worth it. The portions are huge and I got two meals out of filet mignon hibachi. The ginger salad was one of the best I ever had. My son quite liked the clear soup and when I tried a sample, I agreed. I imagine at dinner time it would probably be quite beautiful for a date night. I will go back.

Came in when they were very busy for the holidays and yet the staff was so polite and the food was amazing. We got 4 different sushi rolls and they all were delicious.

Passing through Gainesville, looking for good sushi. This place exceeded my expectations. I’m no amateur sushi eater, so I expect good, fresh ingredients. I always order any rolls with spicy tuna. I ordered their most popular roll- the Out Of Control Roll- containing tuna, salmon, yellowtail and tobiko wrapped in soy paper with flakes, scallions, eel sauce and kimshee on top. $17 and worth every penny. I also ordered the Hard Rock Roll for $16 and had spicy tuna, avocado wrapped in soy paper with Bang Bang shrimp and mango salsa on top. Spicy and spectacular! Rounded out with two spicy tuna hand/regular rolls. Kenny, the server, was fabulous and made some good recommendations. This is among the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. Restaurant atmosphere was great too. I shall return!
Parking: Restaurant is in strip mall so plenty of free parking including handicap parking.

$16-$20 per sushi roll and they're not even rolled properly. Rice falling off, we had to use forks to scoop each piece because they were so loose. I don't mind paying more money for good quality sushi, but this was mid at best, and like I said, falling apart, a mess. There are better places in town for less. The service and atmosphere was nice, but aside from that, nothing special.
Didn’t expect to find such high quality food in a college town! Blue fin o-toro, uni, Fargo salmon, truffle…. Menu is innovative with a wide range of flavors. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Ambience is posh and inviting. Chu chu lobster, uni bomb, sweet 16 and crispy bok choy are some of my favorites. Loved this restaurant so much that after Thursday’s dinner, we returned on Saturday for lunch. If you are in Gainesville and you love Japanese food, Arashi Yama is place not to be missed!

Food: We had eaten there several times. Food was mediocre. However last time chicken Katsu was a disaster. The meat was dried, no flavor, the batter was heavy. The dipping sauce was thick and zero character. They put a layer of raw spinach leaves under the chicken bread. Whoever designed the menu didn't care. The person who cooked the meal had no skill. They also went cheap on quality of the rice. Barely edible. I lost all my appetite.
Service: The waiter was not familiar with menu or restaurant. He forgot what we wanted as soon as he turned around. He was patient; but it was still annoying
Atmosphere: Don't care about it. Many restaurant employees including owner stood around bar area talking to each other. The restaurant is small so it was not really cozy.
I looked at other people's order. Hibachi didn't look good. The spicy seafood soup looked fine to me.
