“After seeing this restaurant on Facebook, I wanted to come in and try their Birra Tacos with Consome. We were greated warmly by Mauricio, who when told it was our first time there was very patient and explained a couple of things to us. He was able to do a "special request" bean burrito for a picky eater in the group. The Birra 🌮 🌮 🌮 were so good. Meat was so tender and tasty, and the console topped it off perfectly. I'll be back to try some of their daily deals, and some other items that look so good on the menu. No complaints from this first time guest. Management should give a big thank you to James, because he’s the only reason I keep coming back. He’s the only bartender (anymore) at this location that cares about your day and is attentive. I had been calling around all day looking for menudo because I’ve been craving it, but most places only serve it on weekends until it runs out. Unfortunately, when I got there, they were out, and I almost left because I had my heart set on it—but I’m really glad I stayed. I started with the chicharrones and guacamole—crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. It instantly took me back to those Sundays, hanging out with family while food was being made in the backyard. Then came the pozole… and wow. One bite almost had me in tears—it caught me off guard in the best way and felt like eating at the table with family again. So the Mexican food on the west v.s. The east are extremely different. In my opinion Florida tacos are typically quite lackluster compared to those of the WEST. THIS STAND IS THE EXCEPTION!!! The location stuck out to me as it seems to be parked in someone’s driveway when you pull up. But YES IT IS THE RIGHT PLACE! PHENOMENAL TACOS FROM A PHENOMENAL COUPLE FOLKS! They were both very nice. However, La Pitaya completely changed our world and is legit the only place my traditional parents enjoy going for mexican food when we dont feel like cooking. Their service is quick and friendly, the food is truly authentic and flavorful, they even make the tortillas fresh which is so hard to find nowadays in “authentic” mexican restaurants. “If you're looking for a Chic commercial style Mexican restaurant with an extensive menu, this place is not for you.

This is a cozy little family style restaurant like you would expect to encounter in a small town in Mexico. It's located in a strip mall and has limited seating.

The server was friendly and took our order cheerfully in spite of the fact we were just getting a couple of appetizers. I ordered a beef taco which was a small soft tortilla but I was surprised to find slices of beef instead of ground beef. It was served with chopped onions and cilantro on the side. At $3.50 it was a good bang for your buck. My wife told me the guacamole was the best she ever had.

They do have the usual fare like fajitas, burritos, etc but we were just coming from a show and only wanted a little nosh.“

The tortillas are sold by pound and each pound contains about 18-22 tortillas they sell big tortillas for burritos and small tortillas for tacos. “Cozy Guatemalan spot good food but only ever had the tacos and pupasas, hole in the wall restaurant with a jukebox and pool table. The tacos are superb honestly the best I've had in florida the al pastor tacos are really good as a mexican it's hard to find good tacos around here but I haven't really looked much until recently. Pupasas are really good as well the mixed ones are recommended overall authentic food and good vibes play music on the jukebox while you eat for even better experience!“
