As someone who has traveled to Japan and eats out a lot with Japanese born friends, I don’t usually order poke bowls but tried it here since I’m not a roll person. The salmon poke bowl was delicious. Generous amounts of buttery salmon and the rice was cooked very well. I’m a sushi rice snob. My only suggestion is that they have more aburi (torched) style selections for nigiri.
Checked out the new sushi restaurant @shimaislamorada ! Chef Junior, a local experienced restaurant European, along with Drew Tsang, brings fresh Japanese dishes to the keys, highlighting local fish.
The welcoming energetic vibe the sushi bar crew (Junior and Jack) made the visit extra fun! And if sake or wine is your thing, you'll find an impressive wine list with prices ranging from casual to oh-you-so-fancy!

This place is absolutely incredible. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is a work of art and they clearly put a lot of effort and care into everything they make.
I have celiac disease and they were very knowledgeable about what I could and couldn't eat. They were so accommodating, they made many gluten free substitutions for me and nothing was lacking in flavor. So often I will go out for sushi at other places and anything gluten free...
