Shima is an excellent sushi restaurant to enjoy. We own a fine dining restaurant and are always looking for decent spots to patronize. All the sushi we got were top notch. We would definitely go back for that. The desserts need a little more influence by the chef for asian cuisine. I've never seen cheesecake at sushi restaurants in Asia. That's kind of weird. As someone who has traveled to Japan and eats out a lot with Japanese born friends, I don’t usually order poke bowls but tried it here since I’m not a roll person. The salmon poke bowl was delicious. Generous amounts of buttery salmon and the rice was cooked very well. I’m a sushi rice snob. My only suggestion is that they have more aburi (torched) style selections for nigiri.

Very accommodating to my wife’s shellfish allergy which is a joy in the keys and not to mention at a sushi restaurant.
Tuesday’s they have 9 half priced rolls all day.
