“I am a shawarma and döner professor. I ordered the lamb shawarma with salad and it was really good. I wanted to get some fries but the oil was worse than my cars engine oil, so I skipped fries. Even the temperature of the coke was good, not warm! Be careful with the hot sauce. Its really hot. Lamb shawarma got excellent points.“

I ordered a CYO bowl with brown rice and steak and avocado and spent less than I normally do on a small sandwich which is far less satisfying. I was offered the steak by the owner and was a little bit leery because sometimes these little salad type places have minimal quality meat. But this steak was fresh, juicy and tender! The food from the tomatoes to the avocado to the rice below was A+ and the ladies working there were very sweet and fast. I will definitely be back! “This is my go to every time I’m at MIA, which is at least a dozen times a year. DELICIOUS and fresh. Some of the best airport food I’ve eaten anywhere. The roasted veggie and chicken salad is outstanding. The portion is large so even at $16 I get two meals out of it (and yes I carry the rest to my destination if I don’t finish it, it’s that good). Had the falafel wrap for a change yesterday and it was also excellent. This is food that I would eat regularly if it were available near my home. FYI the same food is sold at Ice Box at the other end of the terminal.“

The inside is small when you walk BUT there is a back room with seating thats beachy, bright, and delightful. They always forgot to mention the extra seating so keep an eye out. However, Sissi, kindly allowed me to create my own custom smoothie, which turned out to be absolutely delicious. “There are so many Carrot Express restaurants, I finally got around to trying. I went for breakfast and got a side of sweet potato fries that came with a side of spicy mayo ( SOOOO GOOD!). I was not too hungry, so I got a Strawberry Passion smoothie with added protein powder. The service was awesome, the server let me now if what I wanted was gluten free or not and the ambiance is great- the Gables must be one of their newer locations. Would definitely recommend- the prices are worth it.“
