“This is probably the only Mexican place in St. Pete/Tampa I've found in two years that's acceptable. Being from southern Cali, definitely have high standards, but we have scoured St. Pete and Tampa for AGES trying to find a Mexican restaurant where the food is actually flavored well and correctly, and literally this wk went here and it was actually good. I wish the birria had been spicy, but ah well-the flavor was definitely there. We also got the flautas. The side green sauce was unimpressive and sort of watery :/ but the side orange sauce was awesome and flavorful. I would actually come back to eat here. The pricing of some items such as carne asada seemed high(so we didn't get that), but the birria and flautas were fair enough for the area.”

There were two young and peaceful workers, working very hard without a chaotic show at this location. Both worked well under pressure. Of course there was a wait, due to lack of staffing-but these two worked to complete orders and kept a kind and professional manner!!!”

“If anyone watched “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” documentary film and you are a sushi lover you should try this place “Sushi Sho Rexley” near Sundial. This film is about an 85-year-old sushi master and owner of Sukiyabashi Jiro, previously a Michelin three-star restaurant. Sukiyabashi Jiro is a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant located in a Tokyo subway station. We have this kind of high quality sushi restaurant and only 10 seats. We get to enjoy heavenly delicious sushi like film with sake paring in St. Pete last night. What can I say! It’s a fantastic experience and culture for 2 hours.”

“Tonight was my first visit to Allelo on Beach Drive in St. Pete. We didn’t have a reservation but were lucky to get seats at the bar around 7 p.m. They mentioned they were fully booked, though we did notice a few tables open both when we arrived and when we left. Still, we ended up having a great time at the bar! The female bartender was pretty friendly and attentive, and the bar back (a male) was busy helping with table and silverware setup ~ both were good. We ordered the Baby Gem Salad, Mussels in a delicious tomato sauce, and the Cocktail Shrimp, which were all fantastic. The cocktails were unique and interestingly crafted. The espresso martini had an interesting twist ~ a subtle touch of amaro that gave it depth. The lemon drop martini was made with their house lemonade, which gave it a refreshing and slightly unexpected flavor. My friend ordered the Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed it too. It was a bit loud inside, so next time I’ll definitely ask to sit outside, especially in this beautiful weather. The restaurant has a charming patio right on Beach Drive, a cozy bar area, and another smaller dining room to the right as you walk in. The space is beautifully decorated, with a hand-painted mural of birds by a local artist. They even provided a list so guests can learn about each bird featured on the wall ~ a thoughtful touch! I’m surprised it took me this long to visit, especially since I consider myself quite the foodie. Allelo has been open for 5 years, and after tonight, I can definitely say I’ll be back soon!”
