Excellent sushi and quick friendly service.
Food and service was excellent! Enjoyed our meal very much. Definitely will be coming back again! One note; food is cooked with teriyaki sauce. After I was told I could order it without!!
Service was great! The sushi was fresh but didn't come with wasabi and ginger but brought it when we asked.

UMI Japanese Cuisine offers good service and excellent food, with fresh and well-prepared dishes that are beautifully presented. The restaurant is considered the top Japanese cooking in town, with great atmosphere and staff. Food portions are generous, and the sushi is on point. The in-house yum-yum sauce is perfectly balanced to complement the food. Customers have spent over $100 on multiple visits but find the food amazing and the atmosphere nice for dinner. The waitress Aubrey was very professional, timely, and provided a warm welcome, even helping co-workers. UMI uses higher quality and fresher sushi ingredients for better flavor. A Japanese friend loved the hell ramen and enjoyed the flavor combinations and spice level. The restaurant has an underwater theme, as UMI means sea in Japanese. It is a small restaurant with higher ceilings, making noise levels manageable even when packed. Great lunch specials are available, and the filet mignon hibachi lunch offers excellent quality for $18. This is a pleasant surprise off the highway in Lake City, and customers plan trips around this establishment.
