Leonardi’s Pizza

Their dedication to finding the perfect recipes for their pies comes alive in the first bite, and delivers all the way to the last bite. I spoke with the owners Chris and Amanda, and they tried every flour and every cheese and found the best quality ingredients you could ask for. They didn’t settle on mediocrity like most NY pizza places down here in Palm Beach County.

There are 3 higher quality pizza competitors nearby. Even though I knew immediately Leonardi’s was superior, I decided I needed to do a side by side comparison. I won’t use names to protect their reputation. I picked up a slice of pizza from competitor A without having it heated up. I took it to Leonardi’s and had them heat it up with one of their own plain slices.

I didn’t realize how upsetting competitor A’s pizza made me feel until side by side. See the photos below: A’s pizza looks like it is sick and unhappy, the cheese isn’t cooked correctly because they used too much cheese and sauce. Their sauce tasted good and was seasoned well, but very watery. Because of this, the flour used and because they cook their pizza on a screen instead of directly on the stone, the crust was undercooked and soggy.

Leonardi’s slice has the perfect balance of sauce and cheese, and the thin crust crunches with every bite. This is a rare quality, you have to try it to see how well they perfected their crust. The sauce is not watery, and it is seasoned better. It has a more authentic Brooklyn flavor. Leonardi’s charges $3.25 for their plain slices, while Competitor A charges $4.00. Seriously people, don’t punish yourselves. Spoil yourself with the best pizza in town and save the 75 cents.

My last point: Chris and Amanda are GOOD people. Their energy and hospitality shines, they make you feel welcome and their store & kitchen are spotlessly clean. If you want attitude and a belly ache, try Competitor A. You’ll be back to Leonardi’s.“

“Big John’s is a very special place! Small but mighty. Warm and welcoming service and food to DIE for! Every plate that came out looked better than the next. I picked the Cesar which was crisp and fresh, they gave me 3 garlic rolls( I was a little disappointed they weren’t hot or warm but quickly forgot about it when I bit into the delicious oily, garlicky buttery goo on top-yum- no vampires are coming near me for awhile). Main course I selected the sole Francesca that had a side of spaghetti. The fish was cook to perfection. The lemon butter sauce is so amazing that I am sure the calories burned at my workout that morning are all forgotten about but so worth it. By now I am full but there is a dessert choice too included for $30. The tiramisu was packed up for me to bring home. Since I mentioned I have a cocoa allergy they did not put it on-yeah I very seldom get to enjoy this dessert. This a a delightful treat at home while writing this review. “This is my second experience with Prezzo in Palm Beach Gardens and I couldn’t be more thrilled to write a review. The manager was extremely welcoming and checked in on us throughout our meal. Our server was a wonderful young man named Will who was attentive, kind, and interacted with everyone (so refreshing in this era)! He will be requested for our next visit. The food was once again terrific!! Baked wings and lamb chops were mouth watering. I can happily say my friends and I have finally found a new “our spot” in Gardens. “I truly believe that if a restaurant isn't aesthetically pleasing it's going to have great food. I've been to restaurants that are " Instagram worthy" and the food is sub par at best. Now I'm not saying that presto pizza is a run down restaurant it's comfortable and the atmosphere is very homey. The food is delicious they have buffalo wings and the wings are nice and crispy and I don't even like buffalo. I went with my family of 6 and there was still pizza left over. Over all great food great service shame that I live a bit far.“

“I am addicted. We just moved nearby a few months ago and have been looking for a go to pizza place. We were a bit skeptical at first, seeing Romeo's is part of a gas station, but wow. Pizza is hot and fresh, the cheese and toppings are delicious and the sauce is perfect, not too sweet and not too acidic. Even the crust is good! The staff are pleasant and kind every time I've gone in. Try the zeppole!! I haven't tried their other entrees yet but hope to in the near future.

Parking: Parking may be limited depending on how busy the gas station is but I haven't had a problem grabbing a spot for take out.“

“I wish I could give DePietro’s 10 stars review! I called a few weeks before my daughters birthday at Palm Beach Ice Works and asked if they could host the dinner party for 11 girls and 4 big brothers, 2 dads and 5 moms and a grandmother! They not only confirmed they could set up tables for us and accommodate our party and menu but at the last moment I asked if they could please bake a couple frozen gluten free pizzas for a couple kids with dietary needs. They were not only willing to accommodate that request but also covered the pies with tin foil to try and prevent cross contamination. They allowed me to bring my daughters favorite cakes (including storing a gluten free cake in their fridge and serving that as well) and were just so super friendly and supportive. The pizzas were made quickly and were delicious (we ordered plain cheese, pepperoni and a meat lovers) and garlic rolls as well as custom chicken salads that I requested and everything was perfect. I felt bad that we took up most of the tables but we weren’t rushed at all and by the time I left I felt like the staff were extended family or something! I’m SO glad we chose this option and gave the girls 2 full hours of skate time followed by 2 hours of pizza, cake and dinner together. Thank you again Dana and DePietro! You guys are THE BEST!!! “Their pizzas are so underrated. Its a hole in the wall kind of deal. Their food is fresh daily, made with fresh ingredients. They make a killer veggie calzone, and I am a meat eater, but their veggie calzone is off the hooks. Wife said their pasta are amazing too, and they make some quality sandwiches. The music was loud and we were going to leave but my wife decided to go speak with one of the managers to see if he could do anything about it because we have hearing problems. “My name is Marco, my friends brought me for my birthday. I talked to johnny, asked him for something good. He went out of his way and made me a pizza with 5 different types. And still waited under 10 mins. Johnny needs a raise. 100% the only place ill ever eat pizza again. You can tell hes proud of his food. I was surpised to find out there are more locations. The picture is what he made for me. He showed me some pictures of pizza art he did for a kids birthday, but not for sale. A+ employee.“

“My wife Margaret and I pretty much have always enjoyed Anthony's, even though we have to bring our own Oregano, LOL and have visited many of your restaurants. Your wellington location is now the only one we actually visit. The second or third time we visited your Wellington location. we were greeted at the door by a sweet young lady named Estee. When we sat down to dine, to our delight, we met the most delightful server named Abbey. She was simply the greatest when it came to customer attentiveness. On our next visit we asked Estee if the server with the British accent was working, telling her how much we loved that person. To our surprise Estee happily told us that the server's name is Abby and that Abbey was her mom. We try to make it there at least three or four times each month. Yes, your food is great but I'm sure that you realize that there are many great places to get great pizza in our area. Some are much closer to us than your Wellington location. But even though we can get Oregano at the other places, for us, they are missing one key ingredient, and that is ABBEY. We enjoy watching her with other customers too. She has a way of making people enjoy their dining experience. Honestly, if Abbey in not working, we actually go to the restaurants closer to our home. The evening of April 8th I was there with a friend from NYC and left my ATM card. Abbey texted me that “Liz” has it in the office. T retrieved it the following day.
