Best Italian on North Side and great service also
I went tonight with my husband and some friends. There was a hiccup with my and my husband’s meals and they came out well after everyone else’s. The manager (possibly the owner?) we didn’t say anything, the manager (?) was proactive and brought our meals, apologized, and made things right. Il Forno Italian Restaurant Southside in Downtown Lakeland offers a wonderful experience. The food is great, fresh, and delicious. Meals like the chicken parm, pasta with vodka sauce, Chicken Parmigiana, and Chicken Marsala are highly recommended. The chicken breast is lightly breaded, crispy, and tender, while the pasta is cooked just right with rich homemade Italian flavor. The garlic rolls are warm and buttery, and the white and red sangria pitchers are worth it. The pizza is also fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy, the portions are generous, and the service is friendly, attentive, and courteous. Staff members like Lexy, Victoria R., and Ean are wonderful and accommodating, even for large parties of up to 20 or groups that change size. The restaurant feels like home. Prices are fair considering the great food. Many return every year for competitions or whenever visiting family in Lakeland. Nothing compares to this place.
