“We were there September 19 & 20! We discovered this cool beach cafe and absolutely loved this place! Cool bartenders and an awesome atmosphere! The food and drinks were fantastic and just loved this place! When we visit Fort Lauderdale again, we will definitely come back!!!!!!“

“I stopped by for breakfast, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Sonia was absolutely amazing! She was warm, welcoming, and took the time to walk me through the breakfast menu, explaining the different dishes and making great recommendations.

The ackee and saltfish was cooked to perfection—fresh, flavorful, and seasoned just right. You can tell it was made with care and authenticity. And the hominy porridge? Let's just say it's not for the faint of heart! It's rich, hearty, and packed with traditional flavor. If you're familiar with authentic Jamaican breakfasts, you'll definitely appreciate it.

“I Don't know where these reviewers went but I'm sure its not the same Tabanka i have been going to. I have had nothing but exceptional service whenever I'm there, and believe me I have been there since they opened. Even family visiting from Trinidad the first place we visit is there. Patties to me are considered fast food so the drive thru is a no brainer. I wish they all had a drive thru.

Only thing is the pickles could use a little work especially with the scotch bonnet pepper, I feel like they should be cut into smaller pieces. Also the price for it is very respectable compared to others. $15 for griot will have me coming back again for sure.“

“Just visited Ali’s Roti Shop for the first time. First time having roti as well and I chose this location. I give honest reviews. Never like to give a bad review unless it’s absolutely necessary. I only have one issue, I wish the portions wore more for the price. Ordered the roti curry goat. I looked up paratha roti prior to coming. That’s the one I really wanted and a customer came in behind me and ordered it, that’s when I remembered. It was my first time, I wasn’t given the options of which I’d like, but I guess that’s my responsibility to know so I will accept that. Food was delicious, spicy but I love spice. As stated before I just wish the portions were bigger. I will return however to try the boneless curry paratha roti.“

“We evacuated to Ft Lauderdale from Port Charlotte during hurricane Ian and stumbled upon this wonderful Sandbar Grill while in town. Service was so amazing the first night that we had to go back. “If you’re looking for authentic Haitian food with great flavor and reasonable prices, I definitely recommend Shamama Restaurant. They just opened on April 1st, and they’ve already made a strong impression.

The food is fresh, flavorful, and the pricing is much more reasonable compared to many restaurants in the area. One thing I can’t stop ordering is the fried taso kabrit — it’s seasoned perfectly, fried just right, and honestly so good that I keep going back for more.

I had the oxtail which was so different than any oxtail I’ve ever tasted. Paired with the light & fluffy rice & peas??? Literally heaven. I’m obsessed. I wish I had pictures but I scarfed it down so fast. Please keep in mind that this is a home business (I recommend delivery but if you’re picking up, it’ll be in an apartment complex) but the food was so good & the preparation was proven to be sanitary!
