“Great mom and pop restaurant. Amazing home cooking and a quaint little place. If the weather is nice, you can sit out back on the patio and watch the kayakers fall in the basin. Do not leave without getting a cup of the soup of the day. Zesty cauliflower, beer cheese, and loaded baked potato are some of my favorites. This is where the locals eat.“

“We thought this restaurant was pretty good. We ordered the zucchini chips, a burger and grouper nuggets. There are so many zucchini chips in the order and the slices are thick so you actually taste the zuchini. The burger was super flavorful and juicy. The grouper nuggets were very fresh. A tad bit over cooked but still good. The seasonal veggies were well seasoned too. The only downfall to the restaurant was the price. It was a bit expensive. For the things we ordered it was $80 without tip. But that’s the price you pay for food on the island.“

“I’ve had many hot dogs in my life. But this was genuinely the greatest hot dog I’ve ever had. The service was great. I believe this is a family run restaurant and they made me feel like I was related to them. Once the owner said they would not put ketchup on a dog I knew this place was SERIOUS. I’d drive hours for a good meal like this . Great prices also. 10/10“

“It was pretty good. The food was good, but it was not great considering the price. We spent $40 for two meals. One breakfast of eggs and bacon, nothing fancy. And I had the chicken wrap. We had waters to drink. The place was super busy, so the servers were really spread too thin. Maybe they were short-staffed? The portions were really big, so that was good. Although we didn't sit outside, it looked really nice! Good place for the snowbirds, but as a local, we have other top choices!“

“5 starts BUT READ!To be honest the food is amazing, fresh and you can tell it is made with love, BUT portions are not like in the pictures, they serve pretty small portions for mexican food and special for this kind of places, we had to come back and buy some tacos in another little places, they came with a lot of protein and they were just 1$ each, in Mexi-Peru they were 3$ each with just a little bit of carne asada on it. Too bad I didn't take pictures because initially I wasn't planning to leave a review, but after being still hungry and having to come back for more food I think this review could be useful, don't get me wrong excellent taste but portions - price not at all!To be honest, the food is delicious! It is fresh and you can see that they cook with love, BUT the portions for Mexican food and this type of place that is like a fair, were very small, they are not like the photos! After eating we were hungry and had to go back to buy $1 tacos at another stall that were also delicious. It is not a negative comment and it is too bad that I did not take a photo, because initially I did not plan to leave any comment, but after having to buy at another stall, and cheaper with more food to be satisfied, I think that this comment would be useful for both The owner and the customers, the food is seriously good but the prices for what they serve are not!“

“Good food, good service When we walked in, the restaurant was not busy and very quiet. I was a little unsure, but decided to give it a try. It was excellent! I had the yogurt parfait. Not only was the presentation well done, it tasted as good as it looked. My husband also liked their sausage gravy. And, by the time we left, the place was buzzing. I recommend!“

“This place is man's best friend. Tucked away water side. Friendly-well-trained staff. Everybody on shift was hustling. We came from the beach near closing time and they graciously served us. We come here frequently. I always get the fish and chips and haven't wanted to try anything else because it's so good. I've heard the rest of the menu is good.“

“I went as part of a group of 8 but I feel like this restaurant is used to larger parties. There were lots of drink and food options for everyone. The cuban sandwich was surprisingly good, I only got it since other reviews were positive. My friends were pleased with the burgers, nachos, wings, key lime pie, and drinks. The fries and onion rings were bland as was the “famous” dill dipping sauce they came with. We were also glad to see some other tables get food before eli’s because some of the portions definitely were not reflective of the price (especially the coconut shrimp). Our waitress was nice but we felt like she was yelling at us to speak over how loud it was. She also didn’t clarify when things would be extra so a lot of us were unexpectedly charged for things like cheese on a burger and extra sauce.I do still think it’s a good place for large groups after or during a beach day.“

“The place was very welcoming and uplifting as you walk up the stairs and see the huge selection of daiquiris. The staff was helpful with suggestions if you were stuck on which one to choose from. I didn't try any food but it did smell and look good from what I could see,I wish we had one of these in my state because this is honestly one of my favorite spots to be when I visit Sarasota.Only downside is it being kid friendly, but I just ignored it and got my drink on. I came back for a second after I walked the village and went to Siesta Key Beach to catch the sunset.Parking: I parked at the Public beach #5 since I was visiting the beach and walked the village, it was much easier for me and parking is costly if you don't use the free parking lots.“
