About popular caribbean

Popular Caribbean is a Haitian restaurant known for its authentic flavors and welcoming atmosphere. Located off a busy road, parking can be limited, and the interior could use some updating. Many customers opt for takeout, though dine-in seating is available for small groups. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including fried goat, braised chicken, and patties stuffed with egg, chicken, and hotdog. The food is often freshly cooked and served buffet-style, with some items like rice, black beans, and boiled plantain served cold. The rice is frequently praised as being very good, with some dishes like Diri djondjon receiving high marks for their delicious taste. However, some items such as the legume with goat have received mixed reviews due to issues like burnt flavors or more bone and fat than meat. Despite minor setbacks, many find the food to be authentic and flavorful, often describing it as a hidden gem worth the drive. The staff is generally friendly and welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. Overall, Popular Caribbean offers a satisfying taste of Haitian cuisine, with standout dishes and a warm atmosphere that keeps customers returning.

I visited this Popular Caribbean Haitian restaurant as a walk-in and found parking to be a little limited since it’s located off a busy road. However, it wasn’t overly crowded, likely because many customers order takeout instead of dining in. They do offer dine-in seating, but it’s better suited for small groups. The inside of the restaurant could definitely use a facelift, and the food is displayed buffet-style even though it’s not an actual buffet setup.

I told the guy it was my first time there and he said “you’ll be back trust me”…. He was right, I’m actually heading back there now and I decided to write this review because I felt like the people needs...read full review
