Love this place! The sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the owners and staff are super friendly and welcoming. Definitely became one of our regular spots!
My husband and I look forward to having our meals at Mugendai every week, it’s such a special restaurant and we’re lucky to have it in Oviedo. It’s a great spot for a casual lunch with a well priced and tasty bento box of either sushi or a hot meal like the Salmon Misoyaki. Shop decor is nice for a relaxing meal and service is great. Everything I've eaten has been excellent, some of my favorites have been the Misoyaki Salmon, chicken thigh robata, the triple roll, and the Nigiri lunch special. No one has ordered something they didn't like

Mugendai is a special restaurant in Oviedo and a great spot for a casual lunch or a lovely date night. The bento box is well priced and tasty, with either sushi or a hot meal like the Salmon Misoyaki. The menu is robust and filled with creativity from the talented chef. The vibes inside are cozy, the owners and the team are always incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the music is so fun. The shop decor is nice for a relaxing meal and service is great. Everything eaten has been excellent, and the food comes out quickly. The kaarage, yellowtail carpaccio, salmon box, chicken breast and thigh, and both desserts were had, and the desserts quickly made up for the salmon box. The mini Donburi box, with 6 small bowls of a chefs choice mix of sushi and kitchen dishes, was absolutely incredible, with distinct and layered flavors. The Yellowtail Serrano roll ended up being one of the best sushi rolls ever had. The green tea crème brûlée blew us away. The mystery box was so fun and beautiful, with a great selection of sushi and sashimi. Maybe the best sushi in Florida, with incredible quality that has never dropped off.
