After what appeared to be a mistake in my last Jamaican joint review (whoa, that has a few connotations), I thought I was being punished by immediately being sent to another one by my random name generator. After smacking it on the side a few times and shaking it, I found it to be working correctly, so I proceeded to Carmen's Restaurant and Catering in Palm Bay, FL.

We ordered take out a few weeks back. The food was delicious! So much flavor! Presentation was beautiful even for take out too. I also noticed how clean the inside was when I walked in to pick it up. The owner and chef were also extremely nice. The chef walked out in a very sharp, professional looking black chef's coat. You can tell the owners and staff definitely take pride in their work. It's certainly appreciated by the community. We will be back 💖
Carmen’s restaurant, a breath of fresh air to the Palm Bay Area! Infusing the Jamaican menu with American classics, there is something for everyone!
My family had the mannish water soup, curried goat, jerk pork, fried chicken and truffle fries. Everything was delicious! The natural juices are also a welcome treat.
Friendly staff, fast service, what more could you ask for!

Located at 2280 Harris Ave NE in Palm Bay, FL, Carmen's Restaurant and Catering is a hidden gem serving food cooked with love. The menu is eclectic, offering everything from traditional Jamaican fare to unique dishes. The oxtail pasta is a 10/10, and the fried chicken is a standout, fried crisp yet not dry on the inside with a tender, juicy, succulent coating. The Alfredo pasta with salmon features pasta cooked nice with good flavor, bell peppers, and seasonings, while the fish is crisp outside yet not dry inside. The fried snapper tacos and the Bang Bang Fried Shrimp Tacos are also highly recommended, with the grilled shrimp possibly being the best ever. The Bang Bang sauce is a mixture of mayo and spicy stuff, described as mahvalous. Sides like rice, beans, and potato salad are well-cooked and seasoned with love. The interior is open, welcoming, bright, and cheery, and the service is welcoming. Everything tastes fresh and seasoned perfectly, with great portions. The location is a little tricky to find, but worth the hunt. The proprietor is a one-woman show who shines, serving good eats with a friendly smile.
