“Miami's Finest I had not dined at Fiola since April '23, when I gave the restaurant a stellar review, describing it as at the top of the podium among Coral Gables' many fine Italian restaurants. Last night's dinner actually surpassed the splendid meal we had a year ago. It was simply the best meal I have had anywhere this year and was easily competitive with two Michelin starred restaurants I visited in Madrid this past November. Every dish was superlative -- the ingredients and the execution were extraordinary. I had the hamachi crudo, the wagyu tenderloin "saltimbocca" with jamon Iberico and an heirloom tomato salad. I also sampled (liberally) the superb veal milanese, the otherworldly fusilloni with pesto sauce and the truffled corn. My three dinner companions were equally ecstatic. The service was excellent, very attentive and mostly unintrusive. As is usual here, there is lots to choose from on the wine list -- but unlike most restaurants that are in this league, there are excellent choices at a wide variety of price points. We had an excellent Rioja Reserva at a very modest price. I've had three very fine meals at LPM in the past couple of months; the food at Fiola last night was as good or even better, the overall experience is much more relaxed and luxurious and the wine program is much more accommodating if one hasn't recently inherited a fortune, or simply balks at paying absurd markups of already expensive wine selections. At this point, Fiola is hardly a secret, but I am delighted to see that it is not resting on its laurels or taking its customers' loyalty for granted. If I had to recommend one place to dine in the Miami area, this would be it.“

“We had a fantastic experience here. The food from start to finish was spectacular in taste and presentation. They are happy to accommodate vegetarians, but they will not be able to help you vegans out. This restaurant deserves its Michelin star without a doubt. I find the negative reviews about food poisoning hard to believe when you account for the rigorous demands of maintaining a Michelin rating. However, anything can happen. The drinks were also amazing! Get the refreshing cocktail with mezcal. It is essentially a more fresh version of a caipirinha with a hint of mezcal smokiness.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian meal is not on the menu, but they will tell you all about it if you ask.“

“What a wonderful experience! It is truly a "hidden gem" that is ideal for foodies. The location is small and intimate, but the tables are far enough apart that you don't feel like you're eavesdropping on your neighbors. The menu choices are creative and made with fresh ingredients. We enjoyed the bing bread, bao, wonton in brodo, steak and a gnocchi type dish (I don't recall the name). They told us their menu changes frequently, so we can go more often and try new things. Their wine recommendation was excellent as well. We will definitely be back!Parking: We had an early reservation so it was easy to find street parking. “Boca Bites impresses with its culinary offerings and the quality of its drinks, making it a strong contender in the local dining scene. The food was delicious, and the drinks were exceptional, highlighting the establishment's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Moreover, the manager's caring and delightful demeanor added a personal touch to the dining experience, enhancing the overall ambiance. However, the experience was marred by a small service hiccup. After the manager stepped away for a meeting, a new waiter prematurely presented the check, even though it hadn't been requested. This occurred during happy hour, which added to the discomfort, as the gesture felt abrupt and somewhat discourteous. This incident, albeit minor, detracted from what could have been a flawless visit. In conclusion, Boca Bites offers a fantastic dining experience with its excellent food and drink, underscored by a generally stellar level of service. A bit more attention to consistent customer service could help in avoiding similar issues in the future, ensuring that all patrons leave feeling fully satisfied. Despite the hiccup, Boca Bites is definitely worth a visit for those seeking quality dining in a welcoming atmosphere.“

Also tried their Pescado a lo Macho, very tasty with the yellow pepper sauce that I can'tremember the name for. We also ordered the Tacutacu con Lomo (best thing about it is the rice). I had the Parihuela and it was the least exciting meal on our table, I love seafood, and this particular dish did taste good, but it doesn't come with any sides or vegetables is just pure seafood. So I wouldn't order it again. But, that's presonal preference. All in all, the food was good, the portions are huge, great value (just make sure to order from the menu)! The crust has gotten thinner (I prefer it thicker, chewier like it was), and the pizzas have gotten smaller :/ #thankspandemicinflation. The taste is still amazing but . . . the consistency is also off. Sometimes it's just too dark, burnt spots on the bottom. IDK I think if you go too early, the ovens are still too hot? #speculation ANYHOW. I LOVE it. It tastes amazing regardless. “My partner and I have been building a list of great Happy Hours in the Grove. Botánico has quickly become our new favorite. What makes it particularly unique is the fact that it’s not limited to specific hours or days of the week— It’s ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! My favorite cocktail is the Mezcal Paloma, but equally delicious is The Margaret, a gin-infused twist on the classic margarita, embracing their signature spirit. With the exception of the wedge salad, we usually stick to the happy hour menu for bites. The Choripan, Gambas Al Ajillo, and Tuna Tostadas are our top picks. They’re perfect for sharing, which works out great for us. If you are lucky enough to have Mike as your server, you are in good hands. The atmosphere is al fresco with the entire dining room open to the outside with comfortable couch and table seating. It’s always busy and lively which adds to the enjoyment and experience. I suppose the location is particularly dog friendly as dog owners seem to flock here.“

“There are many dining options in CG, but sometimes it’s hard to find something that doesn’t break the bank with food you would come back for. This was a find. My wife and I live nearby and it’s now an option for a non-extravagant and not too expensive neighborhood dinner for two. Half-price bottles of wine on Wednesdays help. All the food was great, the grilled octopus with the green mole and potatoes was particularly delicious and well made. Some of the staff was new, but they were extremely pleasant and professional. Only not so great detail was the music, it really didn’t go with the green, cosy, laid-back atmosphere and we needed to strain our voices even though it was early and there were few other patrons.“

“How about this spectacular view while having a drink and some appetizer. This is in the Conrad hotel, Brickell. Amazing restaurant inside for a nice dinner. I really like their happy hour but ask if they still have it. If not, the prices for drinks and food are good and normal for Miami.“

“JW Marriott is located in the Bricknell area of Miami. It is in a great location within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping. There is a CVS next door if you need anything quick. There are two Publix grocery stores within walking distance if you want more things. And the beach is not too far either. The JW Marriott main entrance is on the side of the building for car drop off. For walking, the main entrance include many stairs. If you have problems with stairs, go to the side to avoid stairs. While this hotel is showing its wear and rooms need a desperate refresh, the sleep quality is very good. You don't hear noises between rooms, but you can occasionally hear street noise, but it does not disturb your sleep. Checkin: We arrived before check-in time and if with Marriott Platnium Lifetime, we were not able to check-in early because we were under a group rate. The employee said he would not give us an estimate of time because he did not want our satisfaction rating to be low. That comment irked me, he said our room was being inspected but had no clue what time it would be ready. He gave us a key to access the Concierge Lounge took our luggage and made a big deal that if we lose our ticket we could not get our luggage. We were able to connect to the Conference room WIFI since we had no room and 15 minutes later our room was ready. Not a great check-in experience from the gentlemen. Room: The hotel is showing wear. I know part of the hotel is being renovated. We got the old room. Everything is old and needs a refresh. The furniture is old. The linens are old. The lighting is bad, but thankfully the room has great big windows. You can open the curtains and get natural light in. The room has King bed (mattress and pillows are old and need to be replaced), chair (uncomfortable because of old cushion), table and chair (but the table is too high and chair too low to work comfortably). The pillows are so flat that using two of them still did not provide for comfortable night sleep, I called down to ask for firmer or newer pillows and they said they did not have any. The linens also smelled bad. They looked clean, but they had a musty smell. If I lived in Miami, I would have gone to the store and bought new pillows. There is a safe, TV, and JWs are all switching to snacks and a fridge full of drinks that you cannot touch since they instantly charge you. The coffee maker is horrible tasting coffee, but they do provide 2 waters daily free. Bathroom: Single sink, shower/tub combo, and toilet. Since most Marriotts are removing their tubs, it was nice to have a tub to enjoy. The tub is showing wear and multiple repairs, but it held water and it was very hot. The water pressure is not the best, but it did fill up. The shower was nice and hot. The bathroom again is very dark. If you need to apply makeup, suggest doing it in the room with all the curtains open. The amenities are all nice brands. The towels are the worst. They are so thin and not up to JW standards. They also smelled super musty and need to be replaced. I went down to the gym to get new towels. The towels in the gym are way better and thicker. Concierge Lounge: It is located on the 21st floor and provides snacks and drinks. We did not come up for free breakfast or appetizers. I did try the coffee machine, it is okay coffee. Espresso is good, but the rest of the drinks that add milk or cocoa, the coffee tastes weak. We did come up to have some water. I grabbed some chips to snack on. And one evening, they were offering free drinks as appreciation for being Marriott Reward Members. That was very nice. Gym: There is a gym on the 7th floor with a swimming pool. It has a nice locker room with a sauna. The sauna was closed for renovation. The last time I came here it was under renovation, so I was bummed I could not use it. There were plenty of treadmills, but all but one was broken. I used the bicycle until the treadmill came free. There are plenty of weights machines. I did not use the pool. Conference rooms: There are on the 5th floor and can be accessed by “

“I came into bodega on a Saturday night with some friends, expecting a good time, and that was more than met with Paris as our server in the Mezcaleria. We enjoyed our Saturday night talking, drinking, and eating. She explained everything very well, made sure we felt comfortable and knowledgeable. Overall, a great experience; will be coming back.“
