“"Believe me the very next time our SnowBird relatives and friends come to visit/vacation Shaggy's Bar/Grill Restaurant definitely will be the only recommended place on the Beach to wine and dine. An Awesome place to eat. Fabulous place on the water over looking Inlet, delicious Food and our waitress KATIE was so tentative, helpful, warm and friendly with a DO COME BACK Atmosphere she Created. The upstairs Outdoors atmosphere and Vibes are awesome, we started off with the Seafood Fries, for our Main meal was the Captain's Platter for 2, was such a large portion we still had to ask for a carryout. My wife and I were celebrating our 52nd Anniversary, her 76th birthday and my 79th birthday on 16th of February. The Manager was Extremely Welcoming and Super Nice. Once KATIE found out we were Celebrating Our Birthdays and Anniversary She Gifted us each with slices of Fantastic Tasting Red Velvet Cake. The Food was delivered fast and Hot! Once again Very Friendly Staff, Definitely a 5-Star Restaurant!!“

“Our group of 12 ladies had one of our best group brunches yesterday. All of our dishes were delicious and our waiter Danny was fabulous! Service was amazing. I hadn’t been in a couple of years, and I was pleasantly surprised by the additional space. “Restaurant Iron has long been our go-to destination in downtown Pensacola. Its intimate ambiance, dedicated upscale menu, and consistent quality made it stand out above any other establishment in the area. We’ve brought out-of-town guests to showcase the richness of the local cuisine, always confident that the experience—from the first cocktail to the last bite of Nutella or raspberry ganache pie—would impress. Our typical order was a ritual: shareable truffle fries, a perfectly cooked ribeye (always photo-worthy), and a decadent dessert to close. These elements, paired with the cozy atmosphere, were what made Iron so special. Unfortunately, our most recent visit on May 9 was deeply disappointing. Despite the torrential downpour, we didn’t think twice about keeping our reservation. But upon arrival, we were met with an entirely different experience. The menu, which now features sliders and sandwich-style dishes, felt more suited for a casual lunch spot than the refined dining experience we had come to love. Several signature dishes were removed, and the new offerings didn’t align with the elevated identity Iron once upheld. Even the menu design itself no longer reflects the restaurant’s original charm. Service also fell short of expectations. We were served the wrong salad, and the correct one arrived without dressing. Dessert—though eventually comped—took an unexpectedly long time to be served, rounding out an already lackluster evening. We truly hope this is a temporary shift. Restaurant Iron was once our top choice for special occasions and recommendations. But based on our last visit, we no longer feel confident choosing it for a date night or referring friends and family. Please reconsider restoring the signature dishes and experience that made Iron exceptional.“

“This is such a great restaurant! We traveled from Mobile, AL specifically to try this place out. I ordered the crab cake benedict with new potatoes and a side of bacon, it was amazing! The mimosas were also great. I loved we could mix/customize them at the table and it was a good tasting champagne as well. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food and the service. It is such a welcoming, fun vibe with live jazz music. This spot has been added to my visit list anytime in Pensacola.“

“The waitress named Michelle was very nice and sweet. I ordered deviled eggs, truffle fries, margarita pizza, and a flourless cake. I didn't like the sides but the pizza was okay. We were bummed there were no raw oysters, but the chargrilled Keywester oysters, smoked tuna dip, mac and cheese, steamed shrimp, and chicken strips were all super fresh and delicious. They even surprised us with bread pudding and ice cream. Service was top-notch—every staff member pitched in, and the place ran smoothly. Loved the quirky decor with big fish and deer heads. They wrote his name on the board, stowed our birthday cake in their fridge and brought it out with candles lit the time came to sing. “I drive 30+ minutes out of my way to get this amazing food. Truly amazing owners that are very kind and make the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. My favorites are the asada fries, Birria tacos, Cali burrito, and the tamales are fantastic. “Two military heroes (Delta Force and Joint Special Operations Command) and spouses enjoyed steak, crab cakes, and lobster along with cocktails and wine. When advised of the greatness dining, we were presented a delicious bread pudding and ice cream dessert. The service was amazing, thank you! The food was delicious. My disappointment was that the table was not large enough for four table settings, eight glasses, two side plates, bread dish and four bread plates, together with candle and table seasoning. We wished the table was larger to accommodate four people and the abundance of table wares. Other than that, 9 of 10 stars.“

I ordered take-out from this little food truck called Tacos Mexicanos in East Hill this evening.
