“I’ve been to this restaurant twice and the food is pretty great. The fried turkey (taso) dinner comes with black rice, salad, fried plantain, and salad. Parking in the plaza could be improved, but I’ve never had trouble finding a spot. I’m excited to try the rest of their menu.“

“From the moment we walked in, the experience at this restaurant was amazing. The owner, Mily, greeted us with a big smile and made us feel so welcome. She was incredibly hospitable—she even offered my mom a small taste of the legume before ordering, just to make sure she liked it. That level of care and kindness really stood out. Mily also walked us through the ordering process, explaining each dish and helping us feel comfortable with our choices.
I ordered the legume white rice sauce pwa plate and the tassot with diri jon jon, and let me tell you—it was phenomenal. The flavors were amazing , and everything was cooked to perfection. The restaurant’s playlist set the perfect mood, good music and playing at just the right volume not loud. Plus, the restaurant
was spotless—tables floors, were clean.
You can tell Mily truly cares about her customers and takes pride in every dish she serves. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was personal, and the food was absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back! If you’re in the area please come check her out!“

“Try something different for lunch today in Downtown Fort Lauderdale area, try Blue Tree Cafe Vegan Soul Food by Nika King. This little cafe serves up all the soul, as Nika’s mom, Chef Sharon cooks up all of your soul food favorites, for a very reasonable price, plus special for this month, they have a home made burger for 954 Burger Month. The Black Bean Soul Burger is made with black beans, brown rice, toasted walnuts and a variety of spices and herbs. It’s served on a vegan brioche bun smered with a chipotle compound butter and house dressing, served here with hand cut sweet potato fries. The menu also has a lot of great options too, the crab balls are my favorite! Hours are limited as they are only open Tuesday - Thursday, 11-6 and are cashless business. They are located at 612 NW 9th Ave Ste A in Ft.Lauderdale, close to downtown, but they have do have a private free parking lot. Highly suggest checking them out this week, and trying the burger before the end of the month.“

“Came to The Licking Sunrise from West Palm
for Sunday Dinner. The food was fresh. The chicken and shrimp were seasoned to perfection. The wait time wasn’t long. The manager was very friendly and polite. She made sure everyone was taken care of and that the orders were placed accordingly. I will come back to this one. Music was just a tad bit loud but eventually got turned down some.“

“Excellent dining experience for "foodies" in particular--lots of taste sensations and nuanced preparations, perfectly plated. Put Kitchen on your "must try" list. There's much to extoll here, with a few minor quibbles. Homey yet chic atmosphere, and a lovely curbside patio dining area (short wait at the simply decorated bar before being seated inside, great corner table for four). Noise level is surprisingly low for an overall intimate space. Very professional and eager to please wait staff. Dinner was nicely paced, never felt rushed. Drinks are amply poured, though a tad pricey, as is the interesting and well chosen wine list. Consider bringing your own special bottle of wine for a nominal corkage fee, as we did. Excellent stemware. But it's all about the food! Standout appetizers included the charred crab cake; ahi tuna; and crispy eggplant/roasted peppers/burrata. "Fish of the day" branzino, seared scallops, chicken schnitzel, and the "special" duck breast entrees were each outstanding! While some other reviews mention "small portions", we did not find this the case. In fact, too full, we four shared one sizable coconut cake...off the charts!
