If you see Edward at the cabana bar be sure to stop by and say hi! Great service, fantastic drinks (especially if you ask for bartenders choice!) would highly recommend over and over again.“

I have brainstormed with Max Linns gubernatorial campaign managers here. I’ve met wild commercial fisherman, tradesmen, contractors, doctors, financial advisors, entrepreneurs, maids, and drug runners (past and present). Its a second home to servers, bartenders and cooks who fuel the tourist trade. During the day veterans gather to wash away the past and discuss the future of the nation with despair. Widows come to drink bad wine with their friends . Sports fans come to watch NASCAR, Lightning, Bucs and Rays with their cohorts. Putting too much emphasis on results with too little knowledge of the sports. Musicians come before and after gigs and The Wizard keeps the jukebox playing most of the day. It’s open from 8 am until 3 am. Stop in at different times to find your crowd.“

“Review of Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille St. Pete Pier We ventured from the Hyatt Place to Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille on foot as a group, which allowed us to enjoy each other's company and the beautiful St. Petersburg Pier at night. The walk was short and pleasant, enhancing our overall experience. Upon arrival, we were fortunate to secure an immediate reservation for a table for seven, even though the restaurant was bustling. Our server, Noah, was exemplary. He swiftly took our drink and appetizer orders, managing our table and others with remarkable efficiency and a friendly demeanor. We began with two dozen oysters on the half shell, which impressed even our Louisiana-native friends accustomed to seafood. They declared these oysters the best, largest, and freshest they had ever tasted, enhanced by a variety of sauces and hot sauces provided at the table. Doc Ford's offered an array of island-themed drinks, including non-alcoholic versions for our group member in recovery. I opted for the dry rub ribeye, cooked perfectly to my preferred temperature, accompanied by mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak's charred exterior added a delightful flavor while keeping it juicy. Two of our team members ordered the seafood hiatus, a generous portion of shrimp, fish, and other seafood, which they enjoyed immensely. Other team members praised the ribs and fresh shrimp dishes, all of which were excellently prepared. As the evening progressed and the restaurant emptied, we enjoyed engaging conversations with Noah and other staff members. We shared a memorable moment watching the University of Tennessee baseball team win in the College World Series. This interaction, along with a shared appreciation for Drew Talbert's Bistro Huddy videos, made for a memorable night. Our visit to St. Petersburg for the Southern Lock & Supply Learning Expo and Trade Show was a success, and our evening at Doc Ford's created lasting memories. The restaurant's setting on the pier, excellent food, and friendly staff made for an outstanding experience. “Blind Shark was the closest bar to our Airbnb and did not disappoint. Coming from Wisconsin, we don't have local watering holes you can smoke inside, so that was a huge plus to us! Drink selection was perfect for our simple tastes, and the locals/bartenders were great. Food was amazing also!Their karaoke night, I made sure to sign up. In the process, I made a friend (who is a local) and got her to sing with me for her first time in years! My fiance and I became friends with her and her husband, spending time with them outside of the bar during our stay.The hospitality is bar-none (no pun intended) and I'd be ecstatic to go back in the future. Parking: Parking is limited to Island Inn guests however there is a paid to park lot just next to the hotel.“

“Stopped by here last night and the food was amazing! I had my doubts because it looks like bar with bar food. I was wrong. The food was out of this world!! It’s a little dark in there but the service was excellent as well. The bartender was taking care of the whole place. I highly recommend this place.“

Parking: Construction at the time of visit was the only issue. This caused parking to be a challenge however it will be much nicer once completed.

“I have had the good fortune to visit the Rum Fish resort aka Guy Harvey multiple times a year for several years. It is the staff that makes places like the Sandbox. Rachel has remembered my son even though there was a year hiatus due to COVID. Staff like Patrick always make everyone feel welcome. I highly recommend the Sandbox for families or individuals just looking for a welcoming fun atmosphere on the beach.“

Despite this, I still believe Bar Mastiff is a good place overall, and I encourage people to visit.
