“I had a great dinner again last night. Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Bucatini Clams with Fresh linguini. So good. The clams were a nice size from Cedar Keys, FL northeast of us in the Pan Handle. Then I splurged and got the Banana creme pie that they are also so well known for. My partner always loved that pie, so I got a piece in his memory. Hey it was amazing. “I have finally gotten my diet cleaned up by taking out almost all sugar. Which is healthy, but sad. Not anymore! This ice cream is very low in calories and carbs, but who cares unless it's also delicious? Which it totally is. I had a small bowl of the blueberry cheesecake, which is actually a very ample serving, and it was so good. And it was completely satisfying. No need to have any other treats or snacks the rest of the day. Definitely recommend.“

I grabbed a really soft butter croissant that I loved and took another for later. We got fast service and the shop has a big open layout with versatile indoor and outdoor seating, with bar seats, four tops and cozy couches. There’s easy parking since coffee shop is in a little shopping strip with a big lot.“

“HaleLifes customer service is amazing! I had stopped by a few weeks back to get a donut and had an awful stomach reaction, which is no one’s fault. I emailed them a few days ago and the Head Chef emailed me back regarding that experience and we have now sent multiple emails back and forth discussing ideas on how to pinpoint what I may have had a reaction to, since I’m typically sensitive to gluten and dairy. Perhaps, on the warmer days, outfitting the BACKYARD as event space might work best, although there wouldn't be any place to park. It's an intimate room bursting at the seams with readers and listeners of poetry.The first fledgling attempt was understandably passable, but we can only hope future events will be conducted with more planning, i.e., a PODIUM (please!) would be a welcome addition for readers' comfort.The initial theme was human rights, which was clarified later as not necessarily a reader's maxim; after a phone call for clarification, it was found to be open to any themed poem. I look forward to the next installment in what appears to be a monthly program of "Greenwich-Village" style cafe poetry. And it's not just the Beats in residence here.
