Covered deck outside was very nice the week after Christmas. Staff was so good that my 4 year old is still talking about this place a week later. Valet parking. Food was amazing. Cocktails were on point.

Surfing Deer is the real deal. From the moment we sat down, service was sharp, friendly, and on top of everything without being annoying. The food backs it up in a big way—beautifully plated and actually tastes as good as it looks. The braised short rib was fall-apart tender with rich sauce and perfectly cooked vegetables, and the duck was spot-on juicy with crispy skin and a killer pairing underneath it.

Food left much to be desired. My husband got the blackened grouper, it was fine. I got the everything bagel wedge salad, it was lacking. Then we got the crème brûlée and that was just embarrassing. More like a flan. Clearly pulled right from a fridge with no prep. Bathroom was dirty and did not meet expectations of vibes from the rest of the restaurant. The dining room was very nice but we won’t be back.
