We had breakfast here prior to going to Selby. The menu was interesting. I had poached eggs over prosciutto with fruit. Quite good. We ate outside this time - but have eaten on the patio previously. Very good service too.

Nice ambiance. Friendly and prompt staff. High quality, presentable food. Definitely a 5 star food joint but at $15 for a breakfast burrito it is quite pricey.

Today was our first visit for lunch and couldn’t have been more pleased! The menu choices were excellent with some unusual soups and sandwiches. The chef owner was superb. Our wait staff included Etian and he was friendly, most helpful.

I was looking for an easy place to bring six people and a baby. The menu online had a good variety and I figured this place would be acceptable. It turned out, as we all agreed, to be exceptional! Everything was fresh and homemade. We had three of the six soups of the day and they were each phenomenal, and served with a piece of baguette that reminded me of a cafe in Paris. I had the apricot glazed salmon salad and it was generously portioned and perfectly cooked. The desserts looked fantastic and I would try them next time for sure.

They allows dogs outside so that was cool that the different dogs were there as well.Andre no longer works here but the other servers are wonderful as well.Recommended: Most definitely. Whether you are visiting or live here, stop into the Fresh Start Café and try their food.Cons: Food may take an extremely long time to get to the table. Don't expect quick delivery. Had a super delicious lunch and would happily revisit over and over again. Even the side salads included with sandwiches were inspired, with pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries. I can't wait to try more next time!We brought some pastries home, and while delicious, the cooking here is definitely better than the baking.

Fresh Start is our happy place.The lovely Hanna (the owner & chef) took our order. We shared with her how much my grandmother, who recently passed, loved this place and their incredibly delicious cheese blintzes. I got them in her honor and loved them soooo much. Perfection. And the patio is our favorite outdoor seating in Sarasota!!!We will be back again and again.

We came for brunch with a family group of 7 - all adults. Breakfast offerings had some dishes unique to this Cafe - a range of very healthy to full-bore omelets and syrup-covered french toast. Server David is a pro. We had burekas, ShakShuka, Green Eggs & Bacon, and knishes. Highly recommended for food and service.
First time eating there. Brought friends from out of town. 1:00 on a beautiful day so their was a long wait for outdoor seating but no wait for indoors, so we ate inside. Very busy so services was slightly slowed but food was worth the wait. Very fresh food and quite delicious. Will definitely be back

A beautiful and peaceful place to eat. They have indoor and outdoor seating. While inside is nice, we preferred outside because it was such a nice atmosphere. The food is amazing! We had the fritattas and they didn't disappoint. The salad with its lemon vinaigrette is amazing. Fruits are very fresh. Price is average for eating downtown. They don't have kids menus, but our kids loved the fritattas. If you're in Sarasota, you definitely have to stop here if you want to have a delicious meal.

The place was busy, so we could not sit outside as we had hoped to do, but the inside seating worked perfectly well. The service was excellent.Both my husband and I had frittatas, which were absolutely delicious. They came with small salads. We ordered pita, which was served warm, to go with it. We will definitely go back there again.

I have to agree with the last review, OK, but nothing special. After running away from our hotel's appallingly mediocre "complimentary breakfast" (orange and black water and synthetic yogurt), we were looking for real orange juice, coffee and something that was made by a cook not a technician. The outdoor garden is pleasant. The Raisin Cinnamon French Toast, with a small ration of purportedly real Vermont Maple Syrup was decent. Coffee and juice were a tad better than our hotel, but nothing to write home about. Hard to judge a breakfast place just on one visit. Nice people, nice menu. but not thrilling.
