“I It’s so unexpected to eat at a restaurant that truly blows you away but tonight we experienced just that. We ate at Djonisi’s Restaurant and let me tell you, it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The server gave us his name - Djonisi of course, it’s his family restaurant! And his mother was cooking tonight - we suspected we were in for a treat. Everything, and I mean everything, we had was delicious and cooked with love. The grilled octopus, may be the best we’ve ever had. PeiThe eggplant, feta red pepper, and taramosalata dips, and dolmades, the lamb chops were incredible. And the grill for two! They brought a mini chaffer to the table to keep it warm, perfect. Baklava and custard pie for dessert. We took home almost half the food the portions were so big. The lemon potatos and the tomato rice served with each meal - just proves they know exactly what they are doing. Amazing Greek food, such a nice Greek family, super clean and priced well. We will be back. Once we make some room in our bellies from this feast! And I’m Greek… I’ve been eating this food my whole life so you can trust me, I’m a professional 😂“

“My husband and I just had the most delicious dinner at Nikki Greek in Golf Gate! Everything was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors—truly close to authentic Greek cooking. Fresh ingredients were purely delicious. The presentation was beautiful, and every bite was absolutely wonderful. We loved it! Opa!!!“

“We dropped in based upon Sarasota Foodies recommendation and spent two and a half delightful hours enjoying delicious lentil soup, the best spanakopita, macaronada pasta and galactose boureko dessert were all to die for…An added bonus was the endearing stories told enthusiastically by Pietro, owner, about food origins, meeting his beautiful Stella in Greece, then falling in love, and chatting with other guests. Such a warm homey atmosphere that relaxes one and all. We shall return soon for dinner: Politico Moussaka, Mydia mussels, wine and conversation.“

“We stumbled across Popi's Place while staying at an AirBnb close by.... & boy am I glad we did! This place is awesome! It has a family owned feel with phenomenal service & fantastic food. All of the staff were friendly & welcoming. Chris, our waitress, was amazing. So friendly & personable. Good service is few & far in between now a days.... Chris was GREAT! Also should mentioned that the steak & eggs was the best I've ever had, so full of flavor. For such a quick visit, there aren't enough good things to say. Will absolutely be returning when we're back in town. 10/10 recommend!“

“We’re from out of town(North Fla) and stopped in for the first time last night. We’ve passed through this area a few times, and I’ll admit the exterior gave us a a little pause, but we are so glad we didn’t pass it up! The food and service were genuinely fantastic! Our server was incredibly attentive, and we noticed every server treating their tables with the same energy; friendly, engaged, and on top of things. Portions were generous, and the prices were very fair, IMHO. The music was at the perfect volume. It wasn’t packed, but it definitely wasn’t empty either. For a Saturday around 5 PM, the wait time for our food was totally reasonable. Overall, we were really impressed with our visit! We’ll be back every time we’re in the area, and we already recommended it to our family in Siesta Key, South Sarasota, and Bradenton.“
