WE HAD A WONDERFUL LUNCH AT THE GREEN ORCHID ON JULY 2ND 2026. THE SETTING WAS PERFECT, AMBIANCE EXCELLENT, AND WE APPRECIATED THE SERVICE OF OUR SERVER, ASHLEY, WHO WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND COURTEOUS. WE WERE CELEBRATING A BIRTHDAY, AND THIS WAS A PERFECT WAY TO SPEND THE DAY. THANK YOU AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE RESTAURANT, ITS STAFF, AND THE HIGH QUALITY OF THE FOOD.

Very nice, relaxing setting. Great service, excellent food. The best lunch I’ve had in a long time and I’m pretty critical. Would 100% recommend.

I got sick from the shirimp tacos. The menu stated that the shrimp are “Gulf Shrimp” However, according to a May 2026 Health Inspector Report, the shrimp are in a box with an origin country of India. Plus, according to the Sarasota Herald Tribune’s printing of Restaurant Reports, the Green Orchid was one of 47 restaurants in Sarasota County that failed an initial inspection.
The Green Orchid is a wonderful concept and hopefully can regroup and provide the level of care and quality of food consistent with its representation and reputation.
Beautiful old building located within Botanical Garden offering dining options.

My husband and I have visited here twice. He loves the lobster roll and says the fries are perfect. I have enjoyed the fresh salads, the first being better than the second due to the second drowning in dressing. I would suggest asking for the dressing to the side. The mocktails were delicious!

Disappointing and so overpriced. Very average quality food in a nice setting but nothing special. To start with, a cup of Americano is $$$ 7.50 plus tip, even Four Seasons or Ritz is more reasonable!
Attaching food menu to see prices. This is predatory, because of the venue and 0 competition in the area. Nice service team, but feels more like a diner vibe with better decor. Also they up charge you, if you share a plate??

Rebecca was so pleasant and informed us of various options available for beverages and meals. Clean and bright venue. Comfortable temperature. Didn’t feel rushed either meal. Food was fabulous!!win! Win!

Wonderful lobster cob sandwich. But the portion of coleslaw seemed small. It was in the same sized container as the ketchup for the fries. The pickles served with it was a jar pickle, not refrigerated. The waitress was kind and prompt. The tables are very close together and even though there were not that many people, all the people were sat close to one another. So it was less private for those dining than it could have been. It made me think that there's a lot of places one could go for a $30 lunch.

Had a spectacular lunch today. We sat out on the terrace, which was very pleasant. Our dining concierge was very attentive and personable. I had the lobster roll, which was unbelievably good. The menu is very diverse, and we loved that the vegetables are locally grown on the top of the restaurant. A wonderful experience.

We had a bite to eat before our visit of the Botanical Gardens on the same site where this wonderful restaurant is located. Rebecca our server was very courteous and professional. What a great place for a delicious snack and refreshing drink. We shared the mushrooms and spinach flat bread. Also the lemonade and strawberry drink is delicious.

My fiance and I split the warm chicken salad. It was one of my favorite salads I've ever had. They don't skimp on chicken. Had the creme brulee for dessert and my fiance said it was one of the best he's ever had. Had lunch on the patio and butterflies were flying around. Lovely place

If you're looking for a quiet sit down lunch while visiting Selby Gardens this is the place! The food and cocktails were wonderful, the chef had a few special items that were created for the current exhibit.

The service, provided by Denise was honestly unacceptable. She had a rude tone, minimal communication, and acted annoyed whenever we needed something. It felt like we were bothering her by simply being there. For the amount we paid, we expected basic courtesy and attentiveness, neither of which we received.
The food was fine, but the service alone would prevent me from returning.
