The Wayward Goose Bar • $
48 Dr M.L.K. Jr St N, St. Petersburg

“went here with a few co-workers after work at around 11:30pm. We were all very excited to try this place as we love playing pool and unwinding after work. The atmosphere is really cool and has a kind of fancy underground punk vibe, which I enjoyed greatly. However the bartender seemed a bit stand-offish and annoyed we were there. One of our coworkers had mentioned that possibly this bar doesn't take kindly to non regulars (but that was just an assumption) I don't think we did anything to upset anyone because the attitude started right when we walked in the door, some people have bad days and I hope the bartender is okay, it just made us sad and we decided to go elsewhere after 1 drink. While we were walking away a random man came outside and started screaming that the bartender was a (insert gross word here). As I don't not agree with this man's aggressive behavior It did show us thatWe were not the only ones having a slight issue with the service.Hopefully everyone else's experience will be friendly, just be aware that this may happen and to not get aggressive and just remove yourself.“

Shot of Fireball

“Best hometown feel bar in a tourist location ever! Staff is friendly, fast and professional. The whole vibe in this place is happy and relaxing. Dogs are welcome in the outside seating area and have I mentioned the drinks yet? Bloody Mary’s and mimosas are delicious and potent! My two favorite qualities in a drink. Definitely worth a stop. Go on Sunday and enjoy the Corey Avenue market as well!“

“This was our 3rd visit to Tapper Pub since the reopening. Never was a patron because of the smoking inside. No more though! We have enjoyed the visits and the food has been excellent! Pastrami, corned beef sandwiches have been excellent!! They have enough outdoor tables that even if you come upon a smoking customer, there are enough tables to separate from that! Bring your pup for Outdoor only though! Tabitha( day time bartender) hope I got that correct, is super nice and they have cold beer/wine but today are beginning to get the draft beer installed!! Give them a try in the Britton Plaza shopping area next to Publix!“

riptides Bar • $
7618 Blind Pass Rd, St Pete Beach - 7 miles

“In town from Charlotte, NC. Friendly staff, good patrons. But hands down the best prices on drinks I've ever found anywhere. Very cool local vibe. They do allow smoking "inside" but it's an open air bar so not a big deal for me. Just go, a great local spot.“

“So I was leaving the Julian Marley concert and came into pelican. At this point all I wanted was a water because I felt super overheated. As I'm trying to get the bartenders attention this random security chick comes up with a bottle of water and a cup of water as well and tells me to keep the water bottle on the back of my neck.I appreciate you random security chick. You're a lifesaver“

Steve's Tavern On The Avenue Pubs • $
933 Central Ave, St. Petersburg - 0.52 miles

“Quintessential dive bar. Haze of smoke and whiff of stale beer upon entrance. Draft section and liquor rail that leans toward the old tried and true with just a smattering of the new dangled boogie juice. Full blend of clientele including a few that have the look that lets you know they've lived some things that aren't to be talked about. At least not for a few more drinks. Cheap pool table that still sports a couple cues that roll relatively straight. One of those damn new internet connected jukeboxes ..... sigh. (Can't stem the tide on everything.) Perhaps the one thing that does stand out about Steve's, at least in my visits, is that the staff seems to be universally friendly and inviting. Gotta be honest though, adding one gruff old fart behind the bar might not be a bad thing to complete the place. Bring cash. Buy drinks. Leave your pretense at the spots surrounding it, and you'll have a fine time.“

Stella Artois

“We love dive bars, we are from WI. So this was our vibe. Bartender (Missy, I think) was so nice & attentive. Some locals gave us tips to go see: Pier Teaki on St. Pete Pier and Birch Wood Sky Bar (roof top). Missy suggested The Galley for food. SO good! We had the best day thanks to those ladies!“
