Just had an amazing experience at Coosh’s Bayou Rouge! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of Southern charm. Our waitress Gabby went above and beyond—her energy, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel right at home. My daughter Aniyah absolutely loved her (lol), and we both agreed the food was incredible! Every bite was flavorful and fresh—true Louisiana flavor right here!
We’re giving this spot a solid 10/10 — great service,...read full review
Purchased a large bowl of shrimp and crab gumbo. Had two shrimp in it and couldn't see any crab meat. The waiter was apologetic but that was it. Scammed me for 22+ dollars.
That's the only place in town that the food reminds me of home.I was born in Louisiana and moved to Georgia in the 90s. It's very much worth the drive from Thomasville to Tallahassee. The food is great and the service is excellent. Geaux Tigers

Based on the reviews, Coosh's | Bayou Rouge Restaurant is a gem in Tallahassee serving real Cajun food made like it’s made in the Cajun Prairie and Bayous. It is not a corporate owned franchise that uses pre-packaged mixes. Guests can get Gumbos and Crawfish Etouffee, fresh crawfish boils, and amazing seafood pasta. The menu also includes great muffallettas, Po'Boys, shrimp 'n grits, great burgers and salads, and SPECTACULAR carrot cake. The Onion Rings are homemade and excellent, and the Muffaletta was excellent also. For dessert, the peanut butter pie is creamy, savory, and sweet, described as fantastic. Be sure to try their wonderful large muffins. The portions are generous, the preparation excellent, and the food delicious. One vegetarian reviewer noted the only thing on the menu is a salad, and the fryers use the same oil as the seafood. However, the restaurant is a favorite for years, and the food has inspired some of the reviewer's own recipes.
