She was the matriarch of an outlaw gang of brothers and allies engaged in kidnapping and in payroll, post-office, and bank robberies in the 1920s and '30s.On January 16, 1935 the feds swarmed a house in Ocklawaha Florida, resulting in a four-hour shootout. Other gang members had left the house three days prior, leaving Ma and Fred alone. Once the smoke cleared, both Ma and Fred were dead.The Ma Barkers Hideaway Bar is located nearby the famous FBI shootout of the Barker clan. This bar pays homage to the gang with old newspaper clippings on the wall and "Wanted: Dead or Alive" posters throughout. The bar features a genuine 1930s tommy gun for visitor poses. With a strong community presence, this cozy hideaway attracts both locals and tourists looking for a laid-back spot to relax and enjoy a beer.“

“I don’t know who runs this bar, but i have to say as a business owner myself congratulations the team you’ve built from the manager to the bar tenders is amazing. The atmosphere they’ve built is amazing the service was incredible and the staff was super friendly. The manager definitely deserves a raise“

“This restaurant was great at one point in time both the food and service. The last two months or so all of the decent wait staff is no longer there and the enviroment has changed. Now the wait staff is not friendly with exception of the the bar tenders and host staff, there is white trash present and the service just sucks, I'm quite surprised that the owners of Northern origin would allow this. I just walked out there today because after being seating for nearly 20 minutes I was not even given drinks at this point. frustrating to see this happen to what was once a great friendly environment now turned upside down.“

“If you haven't tried this place yet stop waiting! it is beyond amazing food and wonderful staff. I stopped in today for a quick lunch. I had the chicken sandwich and it was on point. This is one of those hidden gem local spots that goes above and beyond compared to other similar restaurants. I am already planning a future visit with my guy for date night.“

“yes but! the bartender was good until her friends showed up and she was too busy showing her friends pictures on her phone and gabbing while we waited 10 minutes for a drink and food order. meanwhile the Manager was standing right there oblivious but finally noticed our frustration and he came over to wait on us and I told him why we were frustration but he didn't care. then she continued to ignore use and was rude complaining to other customers about us? do your job! anyway the food was excellent service horrible.“

“My hubby and I have been to many dining places in The Villages. We have had a few disappointments in some of the establishments but never at City Fire… it’s our “ to go to place” if we don’t know where to go when we visit The Villages. We did have one negative experience with our server but the manager Julie (Andrews, as she says to remember her), took over and turned our negative experience to a positive experience very promptly. The menu is very broad and the food is very tasty, very fresh ingredients which is definitely difficult to get many times.“

“Wolfgang Puck Brownwood was excellent. We have been many times and the food is consistently very good! We have had the grouper, halibut and pasta amongst many other dishes. Last night we had the special Mac n cheese which was amazing! We also had Alejandro for a waiter last night and he was by far the best server we have ever had!! The way he described the food made you want to try something you've never had. Also, his personality was amazing!! He enhanced the entire dining experience. definitely try to get Alejandro as your server if you go there!!“

“First time here and as a former restaurant critic, I am pleasantly surprised! Great service by Emalee, our server, and the food portions and quality was very good. It’s connected to the bowling alley which we didn’t know either. The Manager was sweet too and loved that we are both originally from WV.“
