“Papa Llama, 2840 Curry Ford Road, Orlando- 4-Stars Michelin Recommended- Bib Gourmand! Peruvian immigrants, Kevin and Maria Ruiz, say they founded Papa Llama in 2016 as an experimental pop up and opened the doors of this location in August 2020. In 2022, they earned the Michelin Guide's coveted "Bib Gourmand" award for establishments that serve good food at reasonable prices so naturally, I got excited. Paulina, my server, was well prepared and knowledgeable, making for an auspicious beginning in a gorgeous environment featuring good prices for dishes that could be made to satisfy both carnivores and herbivores alike. I ordered the entire family style menu which was, according to Papa Llama, "designed to be tasted together, shared, and fought over." So much food for just over a hundred dollars. The prices may have been cheap but the taste and quality of (most) victuals valieron un Perú! A hearty Big Boy Thank You (Sulpayki!) to Kevin and Maria and the culinary dactylograms of their ancestors, on this amazing cuisine (Somaq Mihuna!). The first item on the menu was Olives--whole green Castelvetrano olives marinated in house with aji panca--which were so delectable I could eat them all day. Next, the Red + Gold Beets, a minty beet salad with honey ají amarillo vinaigrette, queso fresco, and candied pistachio, which started out smooth and creamy and ended with a pleasantly piquant bite. Papas a la Huancaína followed, a fingerling potato dish with spicy aji amarillo cream, wakatay (black mint) salsa verde, and beef chicharron, topped with a fried egg. The potatoes themselves were not the star, but the combination of flavors in the sauce were amazing, unctuous but smooth. Papa Llama carries a long list of natural wines, more wines than food items, actually. That evening, I chose the Yuzu Sake, and may I say, "Holy smokes!" How refreshing after consuming so many peppers. The rest of the dishes I would give 4.5 to 5-Stars, EXCEPT for the side of frozen Sysco French fries which almost ruined an otherwise stellar meal. There are over 300 kinds of potatoes in Peru. Over 300! Perhaps in the United States we don't have the same abundance as found in El Valle Sagrado (the Sacred Valley) but, por favor, do not stoop to this! The Big Boy says, "Eat here. All the authentic Peruvian flavors at Papa Llama are 5-Star, but skip the fries, which are a corporate conglomerate frozen food disappointment."“
“The food here is delicious! Everything is fresh, the prices are great. The flavor is the best. We have eaten at a lot of Peruvian restaurants around Florida and Memories of Peru on Internetional Drive is our favorite!!!! You have to try it if you are in Orlando. Stephanny was our waitress and was amazing! She was so nice and very attentive. Our drinks were always full and she always had a smile on her face.“
“The Pollo a la Brasa or Chicken a la Brasa is Delicious ! The Lomo Saltado was divine juicy and tender bites. The Salad was fresh and crunchy. Our server Maria José was very attentive, happy, and highly informed on the dishes in the extensive menu. You have got to try the “PICARONES” they are a soft, pumpkin, round donut ?? sweet and savory. CHEF Misael is very nice and an Excellent CHEF. Everyone was Pleasant. We will come back many more times. Thank you.“
“This is a hidden jewel if you are not part of the Peruvian community! The menu is very extense, the servings are abundant and the food is delicious. If you are looking for new tastes and exotic plates, this is the place. Add very friendly service and reasonable prices and you get an option that stands out of the beaten path!“
“I gotten take out from here several times and today was our first day eating in. Service was friendly, food was fast and delicious. Fresh and hot! The flavors are incredible. I've been The flavors are incredible. They have great lunch specials with so much food!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, high chairs, lots of space“
“Nobody else in Orlando does Peruvian food better than Aji! I have been a huge fan of their 2 other restaurant locations (Aji Ceviche Bar). Now with the Aji Express they have taken it to another level. They offer Pollo a la Braza wich is so juicy and full of flavor. They have a huge selection of dishes that are found at their other 2 restaurants. The food is always so fresh, you can taste the quality ingredients in every dish. We took my mom for Mother's Day and she was over the moon. The service was fast and the staff incredibly helpful. This Peruvian girl will be telling everyone about this new location. The quality of food you get for the price can't be beat.“
“By far, the best General Tso’s chicken I’ve had! From NY to FL, the chicken from takeout places always has a weird texture. But at 88, the chicken actually looks like pieces of chicken breast. Super impressed and I will be back next time I’m in town!“
“First time here and we loved it.We had the family combo and it feeds 4 very hungry people. When we arrived there was no one there but I think we may have showed up too early because little by little the place started to get packed. The food came and we did not have to wait much, smelled amazing and it was fresh and flavorful. We will definitely come back and try something else on their menu.“
“This place is a slice of Peru in Orlando. I had gotten so used to Peruvian food in Miami and thought I have to settle for less in Orlando. But it doesn't disappoint. It's my favorite comfort food place. I'd take pics of what I'm eating but I can't wait long enough to devour it all before my camera and phone even comes out. Staff is extremely friendly. Don't miss out.“
“It was full of special dishes. I ordered the signature dish (fried dried pork belly, grilled steak, fried banana, rice, bean soup, eggs, avocado, and a piece of pancake). The taste was quite heavy. One dipping sauce was garlicky and sour, and the other It's spicy! Salads are so fresh! Sitting next to the grilled chicken, it looks so delicious! The shading effect in the restaurant is very good, you don't feel the sun is shining outside at all, and there is a parking lot! The 18% service charge is really not cheap!“
“If you're in a rush and want some good Spanish comfort food, La Granja is the spot. The sauces are amazing, the grilled chicken platter is my favorite! The service is quick, which I love. The ambiance is that of a typical fast food joint, but the food is what you come here for.“
“There was a man there yesterday that helped our group of 15 kids, the ladies who took the order were fast, accurate and professional!!! The lady that cleaned our table was soo nice. Older building, but super clean! Love this place!!Kid-friendliness: Very nice to our kids!!“
“Popped in this evening and I was pleasantly surprised by the fast service, tasty food and huge portions. Much more than a fast food place. Good quality meats and dishes at about $16-$22 a pop.Would definitely try again when in the area.We tried the lomo saltado, 1/4 pollo a la brasa, grilled, Chicken platters and steak platter. Only dish that was slightly disappointing was the quarter chicken due to its lack of moisture. It was a bit dry and rough for my taste.“
“Excellent food, service and atmosphere! The food is delicious, I recommend the soups or sancochos. The customer service was TOP, very friendly and attentive to their clients at all times. The place is luxurious, clean and has spectacular Latin music. The delicious drinks. Our waitress Ana was as kind, attentive and friendly as if we were having lunch at home with family. Thank you for the family atmosphere Pio Pio Restaurant“

“Yesterday my wife and I stopped in Mares-Winter Park. We were greeted by Gaston who was a gentleman and a great time waiter. He explained everything about the food , along with the history of the restaurant. We started off by ordering the tostones rellenos w/Loma, then for dinner we had arroz con Mariscos and Pescado a lo macho. Everything was delicious and Gaston( once again) was the perfect host! We'll definitely be back soon. Thanks Gaston!“
