Absolutely Funkin Amazing 10/10
So delicious, and perfectly sweetened
Great taste!
First of all, it was a tiny scoop for eight dollars! I paid far too much for what I got. The consistency was not what gelato should taste like, it was more like ice cream and the flavors all tasted very artificial! After returning from Italy, I was looking for authentic gelato, which is hard to find, but I’d much rather go and pay for high-quality ice cream than eat this!
Was just in Italy for 2 weeks and had many $4 gelatos that were excellent. This gelato was $8 and the flavors were artificial, and the consistency did not taste like true gelato.
Very nice Italian gelato and pasta store. Lovely owner Paolo!
This is an absolute gem! Paolo is the sweetest and is always so inviting. He takes great pride in what he does and it shows in everything. The gelato is fresh, creamy, and the flavors are always divine! Definetely give the cannolis a try as well! They arw just as amazong as the gelato! always make sure to stop when we're in town! You will never be disappointed going here!
Lovely place!
Mr. Paolo is very kind, consistently 😃
I think the Gelato is delicious, and he was very kind Wrapping things up for my mom.
I got the impression that the guy behind the counter was in a hurry , even showing some discomfort faces while attending indecisive kids with their ice cream flavores.
When it was my turn it was no different; I asked to try one flavor and with a hurry he gave me my try and went ahead and got to the next client. Considering nobody else was behind us 2 waiting; it felt rude and impatient.
If I’m paying 10 dollars for a scoop I’m expecting to be treated with more patience.
Besides that, the ice cream is nothing near a gelato. Tastes like pre made gelato starter. Sorry not sorry .
Fantastic food and incredible hospitality!

Delicious!!! I selected the Stracciatella Gelato which was super fresh and creamy with strands of dark chocolate running thru it. Cold and delicious.
My husband went for the Cannoli and he was delighted! He recognized that it had homemade filling. Normally a DQ fan he pronounced that Paolo's in our new stop for treats. :)
.. Also.. the owner Paolo, from Italy, was so happy to engage and help with any selections. We purchased some Alfredo sauce and grilled artichokes. Looking forward to eating them at dinner soon.
Owner is amazing and friendly. Loved the flavors!
Paolo's Gelato Italiano in Virginia Highland, Atlanta, is an absolute treasure! Stepping inside felt like a trip back to my days living in Italy.
The gelato here is truly phenomenal. I tried the cantaloupe melon flavor, and it was pure perfection—light, incredibly smooth, not overly sweet, and absolutely no iciness. The next day, I tried the Tomato flavor and it opened my palate to imagine new possibilities! I could imagine a drizzle of basil oil & a sprinkle of sea salt. And yes… it was so delightful that I went back the next day. His flavors change daily & his creativity is unlimited. There’s an art to creating gelato. It's clear that Paolo crafts his gelato with authentic passion. There’s nothing “plain vanilla” about this place!
Beyond the incredible gelato, Paolo's offers a carefully curated selection of Italian specialty products, including custom-branded gluten-free pastas, bronze die-cut pasta, high-quality olive oils, whole peeled tomatoes, and even Lavazza Espresso. These items perfectly complement the shop's authentic Italian vibe.
If you're in Atlanta and craving a genuine taste of Italy, Paolo's Gelato Italiano is a must-visit. Highly, highly recommend!
